Google author tag

I'm trying to implement the google author tag into the different pages of my website so that the author actually shows up in the serps. it's to do with uk mortgages and we're working with an independent mortgage broker getting them leads.
I want different pages to be linked to different brokers at the company.
Do you just set up completely seperate google plus accounts and do it via that? or do you use some kind of account admin thing within an actual business page on google plus? i'm wondering how google links the authors to the google+ business page.
hope that made some sort of sense. i'm a bit confused by it myself.
