What's Happened To The "Test Forum"?

Just went to the "Test Forum" to leave a review on some software, and the description says it's "PRIVATE" and I could only see entries that I ever made there.

Is it just me? What has happened? The War Room doesn't say that it's private and it is, so is this something to stop spamming?

Kind regards

Brian

In my opinion, the test forum is just for warriors to check how their post will look so they can edit it before posting it officially. It's not really a discussion forum otherwise things could get out of hand where people would use it to generate buzz to their up coming wsos.

    Hope that helps.

The test forum is only supposed to be for people to test their ad layouts to see how they look before posting them live. It's not for people to leave reviews.

I usually use the Preview button to see how a post would look like. I don't see why you would even need the Test forum to preview a post. Is there any difference between the preview button and the actual post.

The test forum is not to be able to test products, services or leave reviews of products and services. It's specifically for seeing how a post or WSO sales page, etc will look like and be able to retrieve the BB Code before you purchase your WSO listing.

Too many people were using that section as a place to sell stuff and post nasty rants, rather than the actual testing it was designed for. So, it was changed. The only posts you can see there now are your own.

Still works just fine for what it was intended to be used as. Just can't be easily abused any more.

      Paul

Figures. Leave it to the few to ruin it for the many. LOL

Sam and I used to go there to set up our offers, so we could haggle over wording before ordering the wso.

Now, only one of us can see the setup, instead of both of us, effectively eliminating the only reason we would ever use it.

LOL, Bill, I just chunked a sales letter thru the PM's so I could show someone.

      Hey Paul,

Has the new feature been installed yet?

... I just jumped on over to the 'Test Board' and was still able to see everything perfectly fine. Not just my posts ... but all of them.

Either I'm reading into this wrong, or my username has some sort of superpower that I was previously unaware of.

I've always just "tested" to see what my WSO will look like by going to the Warrior Special Offers Section, clicking on "Post New Thread" and then I simply "Preview Post" which shows you how it will look without having to "post" anything...

But I suppose the test forum is helpful for many people either way!

    Best,
    Shane

I go there and find great products that are going to be launched. I ask questions about the products and generally get a heads up on stuff that's going to be sold.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

I guess that's the exact scenario that they want to avoid. Because it's not a 'prelaunch' forum.

      Best regards

Yeah- its working just fine for me.

Of course, I'm using it for what it was designed for... to make sure my WSO thread looks good before I launch it.

  • I'm getting ready to launch a WSO for the first time and am now in the stage where I'm getting reviews and testimonials. Is there a place where people can post those reviews before I officially launch the thread with the WSO on it?

I don't think there is. You can probably launch your wso and give away a few review copies so that those persons can come back and leave a review on your thread.

Nah, I bet they were serious.

People have been abusing it for a long time.

Some have been using it as an advanced sales page, before releasing an offer to the public.

Others have been stuffing all kinds of ads in there, because they knew that part of the forum was not being moderated at all.

One seller set up an advanced copy of his WSO in there this week, then started answering questions as if it were a live offer.

As a result, the person was in effect getting all of the benefits of having a wso, without having to pay the wso advertising fee.

I was about to test out my upcoming WSO on the Test Forum. But when I click on the Test Forum, it gives me this message:
Looks Like You Accessed A Private Forum. Check In Your Control Panel Under Paid Subscriptions If You Would Like To Join.

But I don't see any way to get into the test form on my cp - am I missing something? Can we not use it at all now?

I got the same. I really wanted to see what my wso looks like. Anyway I guess there were good reasons for it to go.

I started out with the paid subscription on the forum. War room I think it's called. That's just because I thought, and still think it's great value and will increase.

The Private message still shows up when I use it. I think it just means it's a private area so you can't see what's getting posted. Apart from your own. Still let's me start a new thread to see what it'll look like when it's live.

Of course, I get it now, I can still start a new thread with my own test post. Thanks Robbie for explaining that to someone like me who is a little technically challenged...

    No worries, Val.

I sat for wee while, staring confused at the same message. Clicking here there and nowhere before realizing it myself.

Was noticing that people were using that forum just to avoid spending $40 on wso fees.

This was after they were warned against doing just that.

Good question OP! I was wondering what happened to the test forum too. So now you have to be a war room member to post in there? Is that right?
