Quest Blogging - How Do You Do It? Tips?

Trying to branch out into the whole guest blogging arena for links and just wanted the thoughts of you warriors on the topic. I've done a little light research on it, but I came across nothing I haven't heard about before.

What are your thoughts of this method and do you have tips to make it easier, faster, or more effective?

How do YOU find relevant "guest blogs" to comment on for your niche?

Thanks for any and all answers and tips.

    You search google for blogs in your niche that you can offer a valuable post to . then email or contact the site owner with your offer and tell them how it will benefit them. If you ask enough blog owners, you will get bites.

    There are some services out there to connect bloggers as well. like bloggerlinkup and some others. never tried them though.

    Hi Sean,

    Guest blogging is an effective way to get good quality do follow backlinks to your website. The first step is to write an article even remotely related to your niche. Once you manage that, make an account on www.myblogguest.com and post a thread declaring you have a good quality article that you wish to publish on another blog. To increase your likelihood of finding a blog to publish your article on, you can browse through other posts to find a match. Once you have done that, send the selected blog owner your article and they will publish it and give you a link to where it is published. Rinse and repeat

    I usually pick similar keywords to my website or niche and search in goole with "+ blog" add in the search box.
    For example "car + blog" -> this will show you blogs with KW cars. Then I checked their PR, SERP etc. If it's good, I write then a email to the site owner with guest blog proposal.

      and using the ol seoquake trick, it should be easy to find high pr blogs this way.

      Whats your success rate, using this method?

        I picking only decent blogs, so the succes rate is usually around 60%. 20% refused and the rest doesn't even response to my message.

    Great topic as its so relevant, I started investigating it today as it's so important to get relevant links from sites in your niche, I found a few websites just by searching in google "niche guest blogging" or "niche quest posts" replacing niche with your targeted niche.
