PPC credits with a $10/mo or so hosting plan from a hosting company such as HostGator.Com. If you don't know anyone based in North America, then desperate times call for desperate measures, so a good option would be to convince at gunpoint someone who knows anybody in North America who can do this for you. You can also get up to $250 or so of free Facebook PPC credits by searching for Facebook PPC coupon codes for new Facebook accounts. Well, you can also pay for these PPC credits, of course, but if you don't have experience in developing, monitoring/tracking and improving PPC campaigns, then I suggest using these free PPC credits to test the viability of your product and site content marketing campaigns...

Solo email ads and private ad space rentals. Exchange money or beer or kind words or content development service deals for solo email ads and private ad space rental deals with owners of contextually relevant, high authority sites in your niche that have large membership, readership and mailing list subscriber bases...

Content syndication. Contact owners of contextually relevant, high authority sites in your niche heavily trafficked by your target viewers. Let them know about the awesome greatness and coolness of your site content and that they can syndicate your content on their sites for the unconditional happiness of their viewers, in exchange for banner ads and text links...

That's a very broad generalisation and as someone that uses a lot of paid traffic and can see exactly the returns they're getting, I'd say the problem here is that you've been unsuccessful with paid advertising because perhaps you haven't figured out how to make it work for you.

Besides, in many cases, it's where the customer lands that will dictate whether or not your paid ads are successful.

No disrespect but that post was simply your opinion on something you've experienced (worse still it may just be opinion). There are many ways to pay for traffic and I doubt you've tried enough to comment like that.

1 - Depending on where you're buying the traffic from, paid traffic really may not be very good. Buying just any traffic for cheap is not a good business strategy. Traffic should be targeted and tracked. If a campaign is keyword-based, every keyword should be tracked to know how well it converts, etc. Most people getting into 'internet marketing' to 'make some quick cash' rarely take the time to track their efforts, so don't really know what works and what doesn't.

2 - The majority of businesses I work with using paid traffic see most of their profits on the backend, as in, use paid traffic to build a list or a community of targeted buyers, and then make additional offers at later dates. The lifetime value of each lead only goes up, allowing you to spend more to aquire good quality leads. If you're not capturing leads or not marketing to the community or email list you have, you're leaving money on the table.

As for getting fast traffic - just a few suggestions:

1 - Make a deal with somebody who already has a targeted list of leads that would be interested in your website. You have to be able to offer something of value to them, and to their list. It isn't lasting traffic but the quality is high.

2 - Buy an exclusive solo email ad. Buying this kind of media is usually expensive, however, which is why the principles above are so important. It's OK to break even on the front end of the sale as long as you've built profits into the backend.

3 - Create content that is truly unique and interesting/entertaining. If you want to be popular on YouTube, record a video that people will really enjoy watching - like FAIL videos of people hurting themselves in stupid ways. It can be a really well-done and interesting infographic that you tweet, share on facebook & linkedin, post to Pinterest, etc.

I do agree the paid traffic is the fastest way to get traffic to your blog. With paid traffic you can get traffic within minutes. However, you do need to pick a traffic source say PPC or PPV or media buying for more advanced marketers and get it to work.
