Frustrated with Facebook!! What the hell am I missing??

Hey Warriors.

I have a really simple question that I'm really hoping somebody can answer for me.

How come when you click 'Like' on some sites like Mashable.com and IMGrind.com it pops up on the users Facebook wall automatically with a big picture and description like this:



Whilst on other sites like Shoemoney.com, JohnChow.com and MY websites it just pops up like this without a pic or anything:



What am I missing?? This is driving me nuts!!

    They are sharing a link, not liking the link.

    I think the share button was discontinued on the facebook web developers site, but I believe the code still works.

      Nah it's definitely not I tested it myself. Head over to Mashable.com and click 'Like' on any article and you'll see what I mean.

      Surely someone must know how they're doing this??

        I always thought that meant that the person was sharing the link, I am also curious about this now.

    weird stuff. i just tested it on my profile. came up with this for liking.

    i'm using facebook's timeline.

    so i'm not really sure what determines this...

      The share button still technically works (Facebook Share - Facebook Developers) they just wont provide support for it anymore and prefer for you to use the Like button.

      The like button would be more ideal anyway if I could figure out how the hell to get the picture and description to show up because it only requires one click on the 'like' button for it to be shared where as a clicking a share button pops up another window from where you have to click share again.

      So nobody knows how to do this?
