Hi Warriors,

I'm hoping someone can help me.

When you list a product on eBay what are the way to get your product on the first page or better still number 1, 2 or 3 spot.

I know you have to be a top rated seller to do featured first which does get you top spot but I'm talking about if your not a top rated seller.

What makes your listing go up in the search results in eBay? Anyone know?

Can you do some kind of SEO link building? I don't think you can but I wanted to ask?

Why is it that some people who are selling the exact same product get different search placement in eBay? One will get put on page one right away and one will go on the last page?

If someone can help me understand this that would be great.

Kind Regards

Lee

I noticed that my items list higher if I put free posting. I did experiment with that few times and it did make a difference, but there might have been some other factors in play I did not know about.

The only thing i can think of is that these 2 different ebay sellers have set separate time limits for their auction. So one seller could do a 1-day listing, while the other seller is doing a 3-day listing. 1-day listings gets you on the first page.

I think it has to do with how soon the auction is ending. The ones ending soonest are at the top of the first page.

I think maybe it also has something to do with how good your seller rating is and how old your account is and how good your feedback is?

Thats all I can think of?

You should be able to improve your position in the listings by offering one day shipping and handling with a minimum14 day or better return policy.

Try it some time. It seems to work for me most of the time.

    • eBay listings are ranked on a complex algorithm called Best Match. It takes many, many factors into account.

You should ask eBay itself or go on the eBay forums. It's unlikely many WF members will be able to help you.

I think it's the amount of feedback you have and whether it's 100% positive. I beleive this to be a factor because I have been trading part time since 2001 and always get bids in just a few hours after posting the listings.
