I was very surprised that this thread

only got one reply.

It's a real gem, in my opinion.

I've noticed a few other 'gem' threads that were ignored and my theory is that there are two possible factors

1. It's not sexy. It involves work and you can't "Make $100 in 3 Seconds In Your Pyjamas".

2. Really smart marketers don't post because they don't want other people to get the information and increase competition (am I becoming cynical in my old age?).

Whatever, I think Takuya deserves more than one paltry Thanks.

Stuff like that belongs in the War Room where it will get the due respect that it deserves.

too many people want to make quick money with little work and are reluctant to do some real work. true, some people can earn lots of $ without doing much work, but unfortunately, most of us are not these "some".

Hi Martin,

I posted my reply on the thread prior to reading this thread.

May I know exactly what is groundbreaking about that thread? My question has nothing to do with the usefulness of Takuya's thread, but more about the fact that the dudes at the WF have their heads in the sand about a lot of things...including the people who control the purse strings in a HUGE number of households in many countries around the world. ;-)

This ain't totally new. The "digital" part is new, but the market itself is not new. Does it take a Guy Kawasaki (a man) and a fancy report to get the point across? That's not directed at you personally, Martin because you recognize the importance. I am asking in general if there is another "theory" to be applied to these types of threads.

Hi Alice,

I agree there is nothing particularly groundbreaking for people who are already in the niche like you.

The thing is there are too many get rich quick threads and too few long-term sensible business model threads.

A lot of stuff online is recycled or already available (How old is The Secret?). It is good to have it pointed out again from time to time, bearing in mind there are always new people coming here plus we are all at different stages of development. If I had seen Takuya's thread two years ago I would have ignored it. Now I see the enormous potential.

  I know what you are saying, but I think the WF is still entrenched in guru-land where they think men are in charge. Smart guys like you and Takuya know that it ain't always the case.

Yes, Alice,

Us "dudes" do in fact have out heads buried deep within the sand... it takes a bright female like yourself for us to actually "get it".

I have no worries that you shall guide us "dudes" towards the promise land.

I know when I've lost "the game".

Nobody said it was groundbreaking Alice.

I think, and I'm not trying to second guess Martin
here, that Martin's point was that a lot of good
quality threads get little or no response and yet
other threads get loads of views and responses.

Seems to me that the vast majority of people on
the forum these days prefer the entertaining stuff.

Me again!

I'm actually on a bit of a mom-rampage on the forum today with my response here:

I remember the exact same discussion coming up before when someone brought up Skype before. If you look at my reply, you'll see a few important things that define important aspects and why some business owners completely disregard it. I certainly am not the epitome the definition of "mom" as a market, but I think there's an important message there.

Of course, I'm speaking as a mom business owner, but some of the same messages apply across the board. Not in regards to technology, but in terms of how time is spent, priorities, etc.

  I have an inquisitive 2 year old who spends his whole day chanting "puter! puter!" so I know where you are coming from. I have to lock myself in my study and it's becoming like a prison
  
  For me using Skype it's not just about business. Being in Turkey with most of my family in Australia it's nice to talk for free (my phone bills used to be horrendous). Plus you don't have to phone, you can use Skype instant messaging to chat and send files.
  
  I like using emails as well, but sometimes a phone call can save time and you can get instant feedback. Mix and match depending on the situation.
  
  Back to Moms. I think child care is the hardest yet most rewarding more-than-full-time job in the world. Anything you can offer mums to ease their life and show you understand their problems is appreciated.
