a good material for contacting potential affiliates

Hello, I just launched my first big product on CB and I'd like to contact some outside affiliates to make some sales first. Thing is, I don't know what to tell them in the first mail (all about the product, how much would they get, only website link, nothing about the product) and how to proceed from then on.

Any good book on "first contact"? How do you handle it?

    All the best with your CB launch.

    Some ideas for you!

    * Current contacts to approach who know you and are happy to promote

    * A mastermind group who are "growing with you" and will cross promote

    * A proven conversion formula that shows the ROI (conversion stats). You can do this by promoting with PPC or other methods such as purchasing solo ads etc and show your conversions, or if you have your own list established. Let potential JV's and affiliate know the conversion basic. For example, your own list or from PPC.

    * You could search for affiliates promoting competing products and send them a data pack. Short intro of your product content, why it converts, what conversions are like and back end expectations etc. (Total EPC is a good figure to show).

    * Finally, if you cannot do any of the above, then set up a WSO or use JVZoo etc and give a brilliant front end (even 100%) to affiliates to promote. Make sure you have an awesome affiliate tools page and be prepared to give away review versions if a good potential JV asks to promote. You can then use these stats to go back to the top of this list to find more affiliates.

    Recommend - Build your own list first, then make sales, then get affiliate sales for other people, then approach them to promote back for you

    I'd like to start with targeted adds to get my conversion rate down.
    Should I try running some ads on adcenter/adwords or do you use any other solutions?
