Any way to auto update Facebook & Twitter with each new WP post?

I am starting a new blog and this time, I would like to see if I can automate the process of updating one of my FB pages as well as the Twitter account each time I do a new post on this blog.

Plugin is probably the way to go, but there may be other ways that I'm not familiar with.

    Hi Vlad,

    A plugin is the way to go. Just do a search on Social Share plugins. There are dozens.

    That's the weird thing though, you'd think there are many, but I could only find one that does the updates automatically and that particular plugin hasn't been updated for a year. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, I'll keep trying I guess.

    I was just saying on another thread, I need to start doing all this social media stuff for my blogs but I have never done any of it

    This is almost certainly due to my own demographics (middle aged, white, British, professional = reserved + private so why would I broadcast personal info??)

    Just found out the #1 thing stopping my sites from ranking higher is my total lack of social media interaction. I must admit the whole idea makes my skin crawl...

    but can anyone suggest how to get started? I mean I don't even know the first thing or how to get started

    I like Hootsuite.com. You can give it your Wordpress feed URL and it will autopost links back to a number of social sites. What's good about Hootsuite is that you can also give it feed URLs to your other properties, too - like your Youtube channel, for example. Or even a Google Alert or News feed URL that pulls relevant keywords to what you want to share. Check it out - you can do a lot with it for free, and the paid version is super cheap.

    I use a plugin called Network Publisher that allows you to post to as many other social networks as you want. Dozens of them.

    For posting to FB I'd recommend using RSS Graffiti. Nice simple but yet very configurable interface.
    As others have mentioned Hootsuite is a great app too for cross-posting.
