Yes, out of more than 9 million results, I have my site in second spot on page one of Google, or at least it was there when I checked this morning.....lol.

What have I done? Nothing apart from using content!

Sorry all, I'm not trying to brag about this. Instead, I'm a newbie and I've only just started my first site so as you can imagine, I'm thrilled.

Now I just need to work on getting the same results from a wider range of searches...

If it's on a domain with general authority, like EZA, or a domain with niche specific authority, like some blogs, it can land on page one using 'borrowed' authority as long as the keyword term doesn't have a lot of competition. This can also happen for domains with less authority if the existing sites ranking for that keyword are relatively static and have no/few links anchored on that keyword. Google loves new content and will give it a temporary boost in search results although this is generally short lived.

The thing is that the actual content, other than being keyword focused and able to pass an LSI algorithm, has little to do with it. You could get the same results from a spun, generic, article on the same site as long as it met the same algorithmic criteria. Actual human interaction with the content is where the quality of the content matter, not with interaction with the search engine algorithm.
