What Are Tasks Every Internet Marketeer Should Be Doing Daily?

It's been 6 months since I've started IM with Adsense and Afiliate sales and things are slowly progressing.

One thing I've struggled with is having a daily task list. I'm not someone that likes to stick to a strict routine but knowing what are the daily must do's to succeed in this line will be helpful.

It would be helpful to know what are the daily 3-5 things you guys must do daily come hell or high water for the sites you own?

I agree with this. Especially if you're just starting out. Creating more real estate on the web should be a top priority.

Getting traffic and converting the traffic into money. Focus on creating or plugging into a system that converts and then drive tons of targeted traffic at the system.

      • My daily tasks are the following:

        1) I add a new post on my 2 main blogs.
        2) I learn something. I dedicate 1 hour a day to check new ebooks and videos to learn new techniques.
        3) I visit Warrior Forum three times a day (morning, afternoon and night)
        4) I check the earnings (I think everyone do this)

That's my routine. The things are changing when I build a new ebook, website or product.

        See you soon,

    1. being social for at least 10 min on FB, WF, YT, or related social media.
    2. writing content, even if it's only a few paragraphs. Or part of a script for YT video...
    3. checking/responding to email
    4. look for back linking opportunities
    5. help a warrior

Checking e-mails. Which should be a daily task.

Too many internet marketers (myself included, unfortunately) check their e-mails far too often and waste a lot of time.

Set a 10 list of things you would want to accomplish each day and then organize those tasks in ones that would produce the most revenue for yourself. Try and maximize on your per hour amount.

The most important task you will ever do as a new internet marketer is to sort out your tasks!!! It sounds silly, but unless you are organized and budget your time, you will be putting out fires everywhere.

I find that the best time to write my notes down and prepare is at the end of the day. I am harder on myself, and will schedule far more at night than I would upon waking. (I used to be inclined to reward myself for turning on the computer with games...and start after an hour or more of games.) I write down what I need to do, and then decide what I will do first, second, etc. Factors are what needs to be done the most, what is easiest, etc. It is simply the old fashioned to do list.

When you start your online IM day, you will have a list and direction. You will not be putting out fires, but doing the key things that will advance your business.

It depends on what you want to achieve in the long term. I assume you are focusing on Adsense and affiliate sales.

If you are earning Adsense from your blog, a good daily task for you may be blogging and writing new posts everyday ( write at least 1 post a day).

Then, if you have a list, you might want to do some email marketing. Write 1 follow up email everyday (to promote your affiliate program, give freebies or valuable content). few months down the road...you have 100s of follow up email (this is what you call automation!)

Continue to promote your affiliate program using whatever method you are good at...bit by bit everyday. Consistency is the key to success.

Remember, small success is better than no success.

    All the best!

      This.

It depends on your business model.

I'm not convinced there are any things that "every internet marketer should do every day". Not even checking and replying to email, necessarily (that's a common one, but doesn't quite apply to everyone).

That one's just for people who depend on search engine traffic to make money. Fortunately there are many other business models (some of them rather more secure).

I tend to do that about three times per month, not daily. Some people, of course, have entirely static sites and barely do that at all.

      It's really difficult to generalise.

It really depends on a number of factors, including the type of marketing he or she is doing, and what they aim to achieve.

I think it is essential to a post on social media sites on a daily basis if you have a presence on them. You should also update content on your blog daily, and moderate comments as well.

    And of course,
a backlink a day keeps the poor rankings away

I'm going to add something here totally off the wall...

    WORK!

Yup. Stop playing around, stop Facebooking, stop wasting time on forums, stop doing stuff that doesn't result in earning you income.

If you want to make a living online, you've got to approach it like a business that you're prepared to WORK in. Once you've got the basics up and running and your bills are paid, then you can take some time off.

    Paul Barrs

PS. There is ONE EXCEPTION to this comment... Family. Never ever put your 'work' before family. If you're one of those who say, "yeah but I'm doing it *for* my family." I say bull****, you're doing it because you want to fell good about yourself making money for yourself. If you consistently put your 'work' before your family you'll end up with no family... trust me on this one - I know.

I'd say the most important daily task is creating content. Whether you blog, create products, write articles, do affiliate marketing or anything else, the key thing is content creation.

As a few Warriors have mentioned, creating a "to do list" can help make this process more efficient but ultimately the most important thing is that you create new content every day.

I know it's a bad answer, but the best thing to do everyday is "something". As long you are doing something productive every day, you are already ahead of a lot of people (with great intentions) who never seem to get started.

There are very few things that I do everyday... but there are a lot of things that I do most days. All of my sites are in different stages, so there is nothing that I do every day without.

To be honest, it doesn´t matter if you are someone who likes to work with an action plan or not, because you absolutely have to do that.

Simply grab a pen and a piece of paper every evening and write down the top 5 projects you work on the very next day.

Then, prioritize that list and begin working with the most important task.

Many online marketers would do a lot better if they would just discipline themselves.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[6053338].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author arnauldpatrick
I will suggest that you create a discipline in the way you manage your online business and put priorities
    i.e:
1- have a specific day for writing your articles (or looking for the ones you want to use)
2- decide which day you want to post them
3- if you use social media do the same as for articles for each media you use
4- choose a day to select new products
5-have you already have your routine with split testing and tracking????

Just a few ideas; the main is to be disciplined and focused. Please use a Calender for planning , you will NEVER regret it.
Once You planed something, Please COMMIT to it no matter what

    Be blessed

Besides exercise, I would say making sure you are LASER focused on actually doing work that matters. It's easy to waste time online but if you set blocks of time where you don't check email, social media, etc, and just 100% FOCUS during that time every day, you'll be amazed at the results.

It depends on what you're trying to do...

-If you're doing SEO, building fresh content and backlinks
-If you're selling services, finding new clients, outsourcers/employees and improving how you do it
-If you're selling your own products through affiliates, finding new ones would be daily

So...I'd say the only task every marketer should probably do daily is check email (although I guess you could outsource that too)

I think this is highly dependant on the particular avenue of IM you are taking.
If it's niche sites, probably new content and seo would rank high.
It it's affiliate marketing, and email marketing, it wound encompass anything required to build a list.
