I want to sell my own product but I don't have one?

Hi everyone. I'm currently selling clickbank products using a squeeze page. But selling clickbank products only earns me a portion of commission.

I'm hoping to sell my own product instead, but the fact is I don't have one and I don't have the time to write my own ebook. Can anybody advise if there are any shortcuts to owning my own? Something that I have been pondering for a while now.

If you don't have the time you can always outsource the writing. Though if you are already making money on clickbank and getting 75% per sale, why go back to make 25% per sale with your own product?

      Because:

      1. You're making 25% from a whole BUNCH of sales once you build up a big group of affiliates.

      2. You get the customer list which is one of a the biggest assets. You can then make 100% of the profits on backend products over and over again. This is why product owners happily give 100% commissions on the front end, because they know they'll make it up many times over on the backend.

        Well said Becky.

That's why you need to have your own product.

    1. Make the time to write one. Use speech recognition software and "talk" it if you don't want to write it. Then hire someone to transcribe and edit.

    2. Buy PLR and rewrite it. Add some unique content of your own.

    3. Hire a ghostwriter.

    4. Interview experts.

Yes all of these are good options but the real question is what is the purpose with your product. If you just need something to collect names to a list use PLR. If this is your passion and pride buy the product you are selling plus a few more and from that write your own by improving on them.

This is an interesting way to think. In other words, if it's "just" a product to build your list you don't worry about rewriting or adding value to the content.

My thoughts are this; I want the product I give away for free to be mind-blowing. Why would they stay on my list or buy my other products if I just gave them a mediocre ebook/guide? I want them to think, "Wow, if this free product is this amazing then imagine what her paid products must be like!"

But personally, I would never sell a product that was only a rewrite of other products.

        Just my thoughts...

Totally agree. It doesn't matter if I'm giving away a free product to build a list or selling the product for a profit, I want it to knock my customers' socks off. I want them to be desperate for me to put another product out, soon. I want them to read every email I send them. None of that will happen if the first product they got from was mediocre.

People can find mediocre anywhere on the internet. I want them to come to me for EXTRAORDINARY.

If you are not a good writer yourself, you could hire someone to write the ebook for you. Do you have a good idea for a great ebook that would sell well? If you have the idea then find someone to help you write it.

You can outsource your project to a freelance writer. As long as you've done your research that the niche is sellable, you should be able to earn your investment back in no time.

PLR is a cheap way...you can just spend a little amount of time rewriting it a bit to suit your own needs and add some of your own thoughts & ideas.

Finally, you CAN create your own product with just committing to a few minuts each day. Even if you can only write 10 - 30 min. each day...you'll eventually get it done...just stay focused and keep working forward.

I would say that you should outsource the writing. This has a few benefits but the biggest is that you will have a well written, helpful and valuable product.

If you're having trouble coming up with a topic to create a product on then just "do what you know". If you're having success with Clickbank then create an ebook on how you do it. If you're particularly good at anything, it doesn't have to be IM related, then create a product on that.

Otherwise you can always try to work with someone else to create a non-info product. Hire a web designer to make some killer Wordpress themes and sell those. Hire a programmer to make an awesome plug in, script or app. Just start brainstorming and then pick a few ideas which are the most applicable.

  • Offer some sort of payment to someone with relevant expertise in subject areas under your niche, for the development of your product. This can be money, beer, kind words, baby sitting services, personal advice and jokes among others. If you can't convince them, it's time for cruelty and violence. If they're stronger and bigger and wiser and an MMA champ, it's time to cry...

Use the profits you receive from being an affiliate to outsource the creation of an e-book.

You can do this on any outsource site... eg. Elance, Odesk, etc.

But when you say you don't have time... surely you could find half an hour a day to create the e-book yourself. Half an hour a day and you could have an e-book completed in a few short weeks.

They're really not that hard and you'll learn some valuable skills to take with you into the future.

Which ever way you decide to go, good luck!

The cost varies. There are many good writers in the warriors for hire section of the forum. You can check out their prices and what they offer by reading their ads. Also, look at their reviews by other warriors.

I would get an interview sorted out with someone higher up in your niche.

It takes just one phone call and about an hour of their time.

    1) You will get more established in your niche.

    2) your product will most likely be killer

    3) you can do JV with other people in your niche to make money.

    4) You can have all this up and running within about 1 week.

Form my personal experience, I made more when I wrote my very OWN materials. Sure it takes time to write one out. But the effort is worthwhile.

My honest opinion is carry on promoting as an affiliate when you have time.

If you don't have time to create your own product, then you probably want have time to promote it, offer affiliate and customer support and abide by all the legal terms that are involved in owning your own product.

While creating your own product is profitable when carried out correctly it is FAR more than just creating a product - it needs to be quality, it needs to convert and it takes a lot of your time to run a product.

I suppose you could outsource if you don't have time but with no guarantees of getting your outsourcing fees back you will be back to square one.

    My advice = MAKE TIME!

Depending on your niche, you can always come out with a "top 10 mistakes" in your niche...it can be easily created...and the information can be easily from yourself or interview from others

  • Hi Javier, try with some PLR products. You buy them, edit them and resale them as new products.
    Easy and fast.

That is absolutely brilliant idea to have your own product created, i will advise you to educate yourself in how to create your own product before you hire any ghostwriter, you should perhaps consider getting a coach to hold your hand to get started. Once you know the in and out of it now, you might consider speeding up the process by hiring others to create more products. It is a matter of getting started . My advice to you is taking action on learning how to create it yourself. PM me if you dont mind me recommending you a good coach.
