It takes time. Some sites took weeks, others took months, others... well, got nowhere and I scrapped it. The reality is, if the content is top notch and you give it enough time, you can rank. It some times just takes longer due to random algorithmic reasoning. If the content is poor or copied, don't expect it to rank though.

Well as you know there are a million variables, but I am at 3 months on a blog with good quality posts almost every day and hardly anything is going on. It is in a small niche, and I am only relying on posts on other blogs to spark interest, plus SEO for what that is worth. Hopefully you will do better than that. Good luck, Ed.

For me the problem usually lies in not keeping active enough. When I started and was doing articles (back when they would rank) I had good traffic just from articles. That is NOT passive income.

I've personally never had 'steady' traffic.

When I need it I get it, usually via advertising. Although I suppose you could call the mediocre level of traffic going to many of my squeeze pages steady. But I don't actually do any work for that, I pay others to do so.

But like someone said above, everyones different. There is to many variables to try to average it.

My very first one took a few months, but all I had was a sales page:p It wasnt until I started writing articles that I saw a decent amount of traffic.

I'm guessing you're talking about SEO?

If so it really depends what and how you are going about it, as well as things like competition, etc.

Some I get longterm traffic on starting within 24-48 hours, others can take months.

It really depends on your strategy and techniques/tactics.
