Upselling is the best way to make a lot more money on Fiverr than just selling those small gigs. Pull them in and then upsell all you can. You can make a lot of money that way.

So if im offering a graphical banner for example, do you mean offer them some web buttons as an extra gig below or do you mean offer them something bigger outside the fiverr site?

Something bigger outside of Fiverr. For instance, I sold several consultations for prices ranging between $100 - $200 an hour outside of Fiverr.

I offered one for $5, then warmed them up and did the upsell - got the money within 15 minutes after the conversation was over.

When you are in a conversation with the buyer, you can't give your phone number, email id or skype details. How come you were able to rope him outside Fiverr ?

Optimize your gig with key words and ask to some friend to buy your gig in order to get some feedbacks. Fiverr ranking is based on feedbacks, more feeds = better rankings when someone search for your service. Good luck (:

The usual method is to hide contact information inside a file you deliver.

Fiverr is getting a lot more strict about removing people who go outside. There's a guy I know who offers an incredible gig: He does a newscast-style interview with you over Skype. It's really slick.

Fiverr rules of engagement

It's very popular, but Fiverr recently told him he could no longer ask for Skype details -- which makes it impossible to do the interview. Worse, they demoted him in Levels, so he can't sell Gig Extras as a legal upsell. Discouraging.

I might as well add it onto this thread seen as i commented on it earlier.

I TOO have sold my first Fiverr gig tonight, just some graphics for someone but i think ill ramp up the amount of gigs on there. I added a camtasia done vid with me selling the gig and it seems to have worked.

Congratulations. Don't forget there are ways to get a lot of traffic additional to the traffic hanging around on Fiverr.

Although you may get many sales from Fiverr alone, there's a lot bigger potential. Just think outside of the box.

You can start posting on some relevant forums with a link to your gig in the signature, you can do video marketing to get traffic to your Fiverr gigs.

You can do PPC/PPV.

Don't wait for the orders and money to come, go out there and start hustling a little

I did yes, just used camtasia and talked them thro what i was going to do for them whilst showing them an example on the screen. I wrote it all down before hand and practiced it maybe 4 times before i nailed the pitch. It lasted 60 secs but i think that might just be the difference, shows you take the gig seriously for me.
