Massive Pinterest Traffic = Baffled - 500 visitors in 2 hours

I was able to generate about 500 visitors within 2 hours last night but I failed to monetize it. It seems like whatever I do with that site, I can't make any money there.

Pinterest is a mystery in my opinion. I'm not sure there's really many people earning big money over there...then again, maybe I have the wrong approach...Clickbank and Amazon haven't did anything...zero sales.

It's not as simple as just throwing up a pic and linking back to an affiliate program....

    Bill, if you are able to pull in 500 visitors in 2 hours, absolutely that's a great job. Congratz for that! And regarding unable to monetize, if you have not already setup Google Analytics setup GA for your site and do a research on where the traffic comes from, what keywords attract more traffic, are they "Buyer" keywords (those targeted to buy) and finetune your site accordingly. Hopefully you should be able to easily monetize your traffic with a little research. Also, reach out to those who had released a WSO on Pinterest and go for their help.

    My thought would be, what kind of traffic are you getting? Is it random traffic, meaning is it traffic coming from a lot of different and unrelated interests? Are you at least building a list? Also maybe try a cpa offer instead of a product off the bat?

    I wouldn't spend too much time on Pinterest with your marketing just yet unless you are there to simply gain a following that you can take off Pinterest. I heard they are now stripping Amazon IDs from posts. Probably a matter of time before they crack down even more on folks who look at all like they are advertising
