Hi guys. I am new here. I will contribute as best as I can Hopefully I can learn something from you guys here.

As I am trying to build my list now. What is the fastest way to do it? I have been trying solo ads, PPC, facebook and adswaps, the response has been good. Wondering if there are other much faster ways to do it? Kindly share with me. Thanks!

Maybe you can try Media buying from related forums or blogs.

You may want to consider creating a free product of some sort. Promote that product on your site and have them sign up to get it. This is working pretty well for me. I started building my list almost three months ago, only using the free product give away and have close the 300 subscribers already. This was without any paid forms of traffic. Good luck to you!!!

Hi Brit. I am giving a free product on my squeeze page too. It has been working so far all the best to you too.

Yeah, buying media space can be very effective, providing you do the correct research:

        - Head over to Google Ad Planner
        - Input the URL of the site addresses you have gathered and visited.
        - Check out the statistics of your audience there (to find out the most visited sites/forums)
        - The Google Ad Planner should provide additional websites where your target market hang around.
        - Visit those sites, take notes, make comments, mingle in, purchase some banner ads, ad space etc.

I'm looking to invest in doing some in a couple of months, but that is what I know to get the ball rolling.

I can tell you are new, because you want to build your list as fast as you can.

This is a poor move that will leave you with extremely low conversion rates, high spam complaint rates, and high auto responder costs.

I would much rather 10 people on my list that I have developed a personal relationship with and have gained their trust rather than 500 people who signed up through annoying popups or paid traffic and do not know me or do not wish to buy from me.

Just something to think about, hopefully this changes your mind about how you build your list because ultimately quality will win.

      Well said.

It is about quality, not quantity.

You can still make a lot of money with a small list.

Hi dadamson. Thanks for your input I totally agree with you on the principal of relationship building with your list. I am trying to build a rapport with them by giving free valued content And I was thinking of communicating with them with a personal touch. So yes, I am a strong believer of quality + personal touch too

I've never actually dived into list building before, it has always been quite an interest to me. But the trick is to stick with one business model until you've made that a success, then move on to the next.

    List-building is on the radar!

Hi, I personally use Solo Ads to build my list, simply because you can get anywhere from 100 - 1000 subscribers within 48 hours or less, depending on how well your sales funnel converts at.

    Thanks

As guys mentioned, quality of your list is what matters. That's why I recommend you find a traffic source that matches your offers.

Targeted traffic is always important and in email marketing there's no exception to this rule. If you can, try to send a few "value" emails to your list before you even present them to any offer, this way you can build a relationship with them before the actual marketing.

The "value" emails should really contain valuable content. Try to share unique pieces of information that is nowhere else to be seen. If you simply purchase an autoresponder sequence out there and keep sending those pre-made messages to your list, chances are your conversion rates will be hurt by doing so.

Don't forget that you want to sound as much as a person as possible. People like to buy from people, not from companies. Of course it depends on the demographics of your traffic, but you can try sound in a more of a casual style in your emails and try to establish yourself as an authority within your market.

After a week or two, you may try sending out your first offer. Now there's been a lot of discussion lately about what is the best time to send out the first promotional email. Some people say a week after signing up, some people say two weeks and some people say 2 days.

I think it really depends on the nature of the traffic, on the market you are in, etc. As always, try to split test as much as you can to find the winner.

You can also split test email headlines to increase open rates a little.

Good luck with your email marketing efforts!
