Starting with SEO is like starting with calculus in math. Its the most complex form of traffic generation out. Start by understanding that internet marketing has two main parts. Traffic + Conversion = Sales.

The first thing you should focus on is what problem do you want to help solve for a target audience. Example: Do you want to help mom's lose their flabby guts. Do you want to help men get a bigger package.

Research on Clickbank and see if the product has some demand. Do some keyword research and see if there are ads on Google for the niche's keywords. After you figure out the problem you want to help solve then go buy the product you want to promote to make sure its top knotch.

Put together a review site and don't give away all of the good stuff. Just enough to make people ready to break through their screen to get to the product. Do some research on free and paid traffic generation strategies and pick one from each that you can do.

Stick to driving targeted traffic to your money presale page to convert the traffic. I almost forgot... Put a email capture pop up box or on page box that allows your visitors to get something of value to keep an ongoing relationship with them.

Depends what stage you are at.. don't rush into anything or more than 1 thing at a time.. you will get overwhelmed otherwise.

Niche / Keyword / Competition research - learn how to do it properly before wasting any time or money.

I would get yourself some generic domain names associated with the big niches, IM, Wealth, Health, Love, etc.
eg www. thehealthclub .com, www. themoneyclub .com

Then you can categorise within these sites and go into sub-niches of each niche.
eg www. thehealthclub .com/ weightlossproducts /
      www. thehealthclub. com/ exerciseplans /

This way you stop buying and wasting loads of domains every time you find a new keyword/product to promote. Your sites will then start to become established and become an authority in their respective niches. You will already have a head start everytime you start a fresh campaign then.. and you can always sell up in the long run.

Just my advice, it's what I would do if I knew then what I know now.

    to keep things simple

create a blog around something that YOU are able to write a fair bit about

before you build yourwebsite make sure that the market and niche you enter has advertisers (check google or type your keyword in spyfu.com)

and make sure there is traffic

    then start writing

add some adsense to your blog

    then just keep writing

write a new post at least every day or even more and you will start to see traffic and make money with adsense

    it really is that simple

    now go do it :-)

    Welcome to the forum!

Quick question though- are you good at writing, graphics, web design, or programming software?

If you are- you can probably make money a LOT faster by offering a service. The problem with SEO is that it's slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

I think that's what everyone here is trying to do, some for of IM without spending a ton of money to see returns. I would need more info to give an in depth answer but I think most of your questions could be solved by perusing the forums here.

    Good Luck!

There ARE ways to keep the costs down, although there are also some necessities, such as Web Hosting, Domain Names and such. But even these can be at reduced costs, and inclusive free bonuses, such as Free Domains and Unlimited Hosting.

If you're planning to do a lot of mailing, and can't afford AWebers monthly costs, there is a free alternative called ListWire.

Well what I recommend is being an affiliate for someones product or maybe making your own products by branding your website using social media and by making blogs

I would NOT recommend SEO. I would stick to the basic principle of marketing to a group/niche that you are familiar with. Build a list and market to them.

One of the easiest ways to start can be to provide a service to others. If you are good at something specific, provide a service for it. Just make sure to stick to 1 thing at a time.

Yeah, I would say stick to what has worked and not try to do it on your own to be 'different'. There are alot of proven strategies which have worked time and time again.

The best recommendation is to get some coaching or find a mentor who can show you the ropes.

What aspect of Internet Marketing are you going for? There are lots of different areas to specialise in. SEO, PPC, Affiliate Marketing, List Building, Email Marketing, Social Media. Just focus on one and specialise in it rather than being jack of all trades. And it depends on how much or how slow you can handle.

SEO generally is slower as it takes time to build backlinks and optimize your pages. While PPC is faster if you are willing to pay and have a website or landing page that converts well.

You don't have to have a lot of money to get started in this business. It really depends on what exactly you want to do. If you want to do Clickbank and affiliate marketing, for example, you need a website, etc.

Find a niche. Go to Blogger, get a free blog, sign up for google adsense and clickbank, throw both of them on your blog, then start driving free traffic to your blog. 100% free business.

I would say provide a service. Market through WSO.

But if you have no experience, maybe affiliate marketing? you just spend money to buy solo ads and you get your commission

there are many things you can do. you are bound to find something you are able to do.

I would say that the easy way to start is giving services, you may have any skill like writing, typing, translation etc. you can use these skills on any freelance sites and you can get work.

For newbie, freelancer.com is very useful and effective, believe me, I have also started my IM by providing services on DigitalPoint forum and Freelancer.com
