Client redirected domain....how will it affect rankings?

Hey guys,

Quick question.

I just found out this morning that a client redirected their main domain to another domain within the last couple days.

ex - "monster.com" (previously the "main" domain) is now redirecting to "bacon.com" (Their new "main" domain).

For the 6 months, my link building campaigns have centered around the old domain (ex- "monster.com"), and I had achieved many 1st page rankings for various keywords. With them now forwarding that domain to the new one, will all of those rankings drop off eventually for the new domain?

Currently, Google is still ranking the "new" domain in those top slots....but I'm worried they will start to fall, since all of those links are pointed at the old domain.

Do any of you ladies and gents have any experience with this type of situation, and could you give me an idea of what to expect moving forward?

Any insight would definitely be appreciated....

Thanks Warriors!
