Who would you recommend as a mentor?

Hey Folks

I started a thread earlier this week declaring my intention to stop spinning my wheels and start building a real business online (with your help) and I got a ton of great responses.

One of the suggestions that stood out was for me to find a good mentor.

I've decided to take this advice and just wondered if there are any who's program you would suggest would be good to try and join - and why.

Thanks
Ricky

My mentor or anyone elses mentor may not be right for you.

You have to find someone who has been where you currently are and is now where you are currently trying to go.

yes you need a mentor indeed. i've been there (on your situations). It keeps you chasing your own tail. You better find one and stick to his/her method

but first thing first, what is your passion? niche?

I guess the first question you have to ask yourself when looking for a mentor is what Internet marketing space you want to go into.

The best mentor for Amazon affiliates would not be the best mentor for CPA or CPC affiliates. If you want to go into product creation than the best mentors would be those that are making big money in product creation which may or may not have experience in Amazon CPA or CPC.

I really like all affiliate marketers on affbuzz. If you follow just one of them you are on the right track, they are mostly on CPA area so you better prepare your money to buy host, tracking script, and ads cost. I really recommend stackhatmoney private forums, i don't have affiliate with those guys but i know persons behind it are real internet marketers like mrgreen, affexpert, and many more.

    Experience is the greatest mentor.

Though if you are looking for a real person to mentor you be prepared to pay some heavy upfront fee.

A good mentor is someone with a sound track record.

The person i would have recommended to you is Steve Wagenheim but i don't see him here anymore and his service is also pricey don't know if you can afford it.

Google it and you will find more information about him as well as contact.

I'd suggest you have a look for your local business networking group and visit that, speak to the business owners about their needs, and see if you can create a product that helps answer their questions.

I'm a member of BNI (Business Network International) and have found this kind of peer support absolutely invaluable. Its amazing what insights other people have and often their needs are totally different to what you would have imagined.

In a nutshell - find the audience first, second create the product.
