Using Hostgator to host Prestashop - Which plan?

Dear all,

Would like to know whether is there anyone here using Hostgator to host their Prestashop website?

Also which plan are you using it? Baby plan or business plan? As i am very new on setting up a website [I believe setting a Prestashop will be more difficult..] Is it ok to get a baby plan instead of Business plan? [The price is 5 dollar different and i intend to create 1 ecommerce store, a few ebay affilites niche website, the rest i am still thinking but i believe i will only open 1 ecommerce website for me and my gf]

Hope someone can advice me on this. Thanks!

    Baby should be fine. The one thing you'll have to bear in mind though is if you are intending to have a SSL cert on your ecommerce store (recommended for customer confidence and payments), you'll need a dedicated IP address, which you don't get on the Baby plan, but do on Business (I think you can get a dedicated IP for $2 a month to add to the Baby plan).

    Thanks for your reply! after some consideration ,i have already sign up Baby plan as my intention is using paypal as the payment.
    But the next issue...how do i install prestashop into hostgator? Did anyone here manage to do it? i have been trying past 2 days ago..it's killing me..

    It all depends where you are having the problem.
    Hve you made the database?... chmod the files needed?

    Yes, i did make one database but still couldn't do it..i wonder what went wrong..

    For your info, i did del all the folder in the file manager to clear out the stuffs that i install..is this the reason why it can't work?
