Forget your problems and concentrate on your strenths. People spend too much time on problems, which only brings more of the same. People read posts like this and see stuff they never even thought of and all of a sudden it either becomes an issue or the fear of it happening keeps them from taking the action they need.

    DON'T FOCUS ON PROBLEMS,
    FOCUS ON OPPORTUNITY!

I appreciate you taking the time responding but this is not what this thread is about.

This is not a debate on what to focus on. It's for market research

      Thanks

You're going to want a more controlled environment than a discussion forum if that is your aim.

Travlingguy, I couldn't agree more. This is a hangup from the world of employment in which employers want good all rounders who can do everything for a meager salary. In the business world find out what you are good at and do it. Everything else choose from the following whichever makes sense...delegate, outsource, eliminate or automate.

I've been into Internet marketing since 2006, but I remember that when I was first starting out, a few of my biggest problems were:

*Trying to decide what to do, out of the endless information out there.

*Coming up with something valuable to offer to the marketplace.

*Developing business relationships with other entrepreneurs.

*Working my way up, with the limited resources available.

I have my time management and focus sorted now thanks to my own tools I use, however my biggest problem is simply not being able to type fast enough and writers block!

Writing eBooks, writing blog posts, writing on forums, writing emails, I wish i was faster!

Typing definitely speeds up the more you do it.

Could you use cashflow to hire a writer to half your work load?

Sounds like you have a focus problem.

It may be wise to go back to basics:

      What is your income goal?
What topic are you most passionate in?

Choose the one business modal that will get you
      to these goals.

Stop spending time on other business modals and drill in to
      the one.

Managing multiple websites as a one man band is a flawed business modal.

      Hope this helps.

The reason why you do this is because you do not believe in your outcome or you do not have an outcome in general. That's why you are jumping from one thing to the next.

If you know your outcome, you will stop looking for distracting opportunities, because you are going to be too focused working on one thing at a time - your outcome.

The outcome has to be specific enough to ring the bell for you.

Reversing the risk seems like the right strategy here.

Business owners would buy your leads if they were 100%
sure that they would get a good return and make a profit.

Can you give them 5 leads for free to take away the risk and
      try them out?

If they make a profit then they will soon be biting your hand
      off to get more.

If they do not make a profit then the leads may be bad quality
and you should not be selling them to them in the first place?

          Cool big contrats.

It's surprising how many business owners do not have
          the right mindset.

Move on and focus on the ones that do.

By making a simple video using Animoto you can send videos
to Youtube which give you a great high quality backlink and traffic?

Article syndication is still a fantastic way to get web properties ranked
      which will bring you traffic?

With the recent updates just make sure that they do not point the links
to your actual website. Point the links and rank your Web 2.0, Videos,
Bookmarks etc to stay out of any possible trouble.

Do not look for more time. Look for what activity you can eliminate so what's important to you can fit in your schedule.

Presently I am involved in writing articles / small ebooks for clients. Now, I am thinking to learn Search Engine Optimization techniques etc through which I may bring my clients websites on the Google first page.

On the internet, I read two techniques 1. Black Hat 2. White Hat

However, from where to start? Looking for some guide / book / video training course from beginners to expert level to learn.

          Got it.

Just note that SEO is an entire industry and if it's taken me
          2 years to master.

A great resource are the training videos found at
          Noble Samurai - Dojo

Alternativly, the fastest way to make a good profit for yourself
would be to buy whole sale SEO and sell it to your existing clients
          at retail.

This way you can be in business tomorrow. A company that I get
great results for my client is SEOpartner.com.

They have spent the last 5 years becoming seo experts. All you then
do is to sell it as your own.

The big plus for you is that you have clients who know like and trust you
which puts you in a great position.

          Hope this helps

My biggest problem is pretty big, actually.

I just don't have enough time to start any venture. I am doing online freelancing and I find myself constantly turning away clients, so that my studies don't get affected.

I hate turning down work... but time is super limited these days.

I'd probably have more interesting problems if I actually had the time to do something exciting.

Sounds like you are in a great position.

You're studying and getting freelance work so you are running
at capacity. It is only a matter of time that when you studies are

For now it's a case of supply and demand. If you have too much demand for your services right now....Raise your prices

      Hey Abbs,

Try this one out. Why don't you eliminate all insignificant activities you do on regular basis that are not making you money? Think about it for a moment. What you do, every single day, that wastes at least 1-2 hours every single day. If you stop doing that, are you going to have any negative consequences? If not ... stop doing those things and do more of the work you need to get done.

I believe this could be mis-leading advice here.

He said he is studying which does not make money.

Though I see the point you are trying to make. Don't watch

Absolutely. Yea, instead of making money, doing more of his study - which hopefully would make him more money in the future

            Procrastination and impatience!

Chuffing around jumping from one supposed golden opportunity to another and getting real disappointed when I don't make a mountain of moolah overnight.

Now that I have cleared my hard drive of all the distracting junk that I have downloaded over the past 12 years, now that I have cleared the temptation for information overload, things are starting to look a whole lot better.

I now have a clearer vision of what I want to do and achieve and how I am going to do that.

Bring on the time that I know I can rely on my Internet income as my sole means of survival

            Cheers

that's easy. I use to have the same problem back in the days.

Just shift from being a freelancer to being a "project manager"

your job should be getting the work and then delegating. since you have the skills, you know what needs to be done and easily do the quality control.

what it cost you in overhead, you make back x10 in the amount of projects you can take on. systematize. build templates + swipe files = profits.

you become a broker for other people's time instead of selling yours. highly scalable.

when you get to the point you can't manage all these projects, get a project manager to help you.

that's the diffrence between being an employer and a employee. always stay at the top of the pyramid.

but for that you need kick-ass organization. not more time.

        Thanks for your reply, Nathan

It is a great position, no doubt, but I just feel like I am missing out on a lot merely because I have limited time

I guess I could raise prices to lessen the demand a bit

I have many recurring employers, so it often feels weird to ask them to pay more money. But I think you are right, I think one of the reasons I get so many offers is because I don't charge enough to clients.

        Hey, thanks for your reply

Sadly, life would not be fun if I eliminated all the insignificant activities I do on a regular basis. I know I waste at least 3 hours doing absolutely nothing everyday, but if I eliminated it, I would probably break down

You're right though, I do need to improve my time management skills and at least try minimizing time wastage. I'm just juggling one too many things, I think. I do not compromise on my studies, but table tennis and my social life often take a hit.

Thanks for your suggestion. I actually did subcontract a few projects not too long ago. My experience was not that great, since I ended up hiring incompetent workers to do those jobs, and I basically had to end up redoing the work myself.

I see what you are saying though, project managers basically just delegate and assign (and hope for the best) and earn decent profits. I can be super organized when required - something I have learned since I started freelancing.

My main problem with becoming a project manager is that I choose not to work during periods when I have a lot of coursework or when I have my exams. Being a project manager would entail always being available for communication; with both employer and worker.

I prefer the flexibility of doing freelancing work - but project management, as well as affiliate marketing, are two things I definitely want to explore during my summer break.

        Thanks again, everyone

This reply is a bit too general to give solid advice on right now.

Just remember, everyone is in the same boat with 24 hours
      in a day.

If some people are doing it then so can you.

You are probably doing things that you should not be doing.

My biggest problems in IM is speed of implementation, this happens when you don't implement what you learn quickly.

Awareness is the first step to a positive change Abraham. Good work! Speed of implementation determines the speed of your success.

The reason why you are having this problem is because you are paralyzed from complexity of situations and opportunities. Do not know from where to start.

Focus on a single project first that's going to give you the fastest cash. Make your first dollar first and do what works more.

My biggest problems occur when I come across a technical issue which requires me to stop doing what I want to do and have to go and learn "how to" do it. I am in that horrible position where if I could just get some income rolling in I could pay someone to do all these things whilst I create awesome stuff but as I don't have that income I have to do it myself and it slows me down - classic catch 22

It's a part of being on the exponential curve.

Having to learn things when you are new. This will
      resolve naturally over time.

For now can you use cashflow from your j.o.b to get
the work done to speed things up for you?

unfortunately not! which is why I am trying to make income online. I have already spent enough, I have to make it pay now but I have just gone up a learning curve and had a realisation about how I can make money from what I have already built - so I will put all efforts into that until it starts paying

Super motivated and taking action so fingers crossed

The one block that I struggled with early on was keeping focused! The internet is like a candy shop.

You need to Pick ONE area, and make it successful with just a handful of tools once you've "tasted" the candy and pick one type of candy that you most enjoy.

Then drive it hard..and don't give up! Ever!

      Hi Luane,

Classic problem that I think every new marketer has
      encountered in the beginning.

It looks like you no longer have this problem.

      Thanks for contributing.

Internet marketing is a place too big, full of extremely interesting ideas.

I have literally hundreds of biz-ideas every day. In fact a sheet of paper is my best friend.

My problem is that sometimes may be difficult merge ideas together in a profitable way.

ever heard the saying get what you pay for.

      Here is an example...

PPC VERY traffic cheap - 7search.com (crappy traffic but cheap)

PPC medium cheap traffic - Yahoo search marketing (mediocre quality fair price)

PPC high quality traffic - Google adwords (very high quality targeted traffic but very very expensive)

I use all three and get sales from all three, but get the best results from yahoo and google.

My blog has a unique monetization mechanism. I need to find a way to tweak it, so it starts producing.

I offer what I believe is a "better way"--a motivational plan that could revolutionalize residual sales plans.

I hope you don't think I am being arrogant when I say I have found a better way. I have seen many people read my plan and nod their heads in agreement.

    The World's Most significant Challenges

The World's Most significant Challenges portal features a very simple, clear mission: educating people today all worldwide in regards to the most significant challenges facing humanity. These challenges have two criteria, they has to be international in scope, and have the prospective to quickly escalate into serious crises.

Financial Collapse : Fragilities inside the existing international economic climate could tip the created planet into circumstances not noticed considering the fact that the 1920s.
Peak Oil : Petroleum has powered the modern day planet for just about 100 years; at this time, lots of sector insiders say that we may perhaps be reaching a permanent peak in oil production.

My biggest problem (unbeknownst to me until now) was my health. I couldn't figure out why lately, despite my motivation and heart being in the right place, I couldn't gather up the energy to move from idea to product. Well a few days ago, I found out I was severely anemic which made me lethargic. I was so anemic in fact, I just returned from the hospital last night after getting a friggin' blood transfusion. Not a life threatening situation, but scary enough to recognize the importance of health. I'm under treatment now, and can't wait to get back to my regular self.

Lesson learned: Consider the role your health plays in your activities and take it seriously. Poor health might interfere with your ability to "take action."

Not enough hours in a day. Lots of work to do and just not enough resources, and no extra budget to higher the needed resources. The more customers I get the more of my personal time I need to dedicate to each and everyone of them, and that leaves less time to spend with the family.

Unless you have a budget getting traffic does normally
      take time. It's normal.
