I've been seeing this a lot lately and I'm curious if its allowed...

I see some people making free wso's out of free plr, isn't this against the rules because its not their own product?

Or is it ok because its free?

It's allowed, free or not, as long as you are the owner of the PLR. The WSO section is for products you created (services, too).

I know its fine if you created the PLR, but im talking about someone who didn't create the plr, and they give it away for free in a wso.

Oh, as a WSO if itself? No. It can be included as an "extra" though, assuming the person who gave the rights allows it (the original owner of the content).

Yeah- you can't give away or sell PLR that you didn't create.

But if you really want to go that route, you could buy some PLR, spice it up a bit with new graphics and content, then sell it- that should be legit.

As long as they're making the wso "out of the plr" and not just putting the exact same product for free (or for sale), they're (at least technically) following the wso posting guidelines.

Ok, yeah the PLR I saw was rebranded completely, so that's legit?

You know, if you're going to do something like this - I'd recommend that you ask the mods here.

Ryan, I wouldn't try to rework a PLR product for a WSO, free or not.

Best to start your own product from scratch. Otherwise you just risk getting it moved to the Classified section or deleted completely.

I'm not doing this myself, I have just seen it happen a few times lately, I won't name any names, but I was just wondering if its allowed or now.

If you see a WSO that is just PLR, free or not, report it to a moderator.

If you create your own product and offer it to others as PLR that is one thing.

But it is quite another to take PLR created by someone else and submit that as a WSO. That is not something you created. Contrary to a prior post, you probably do not own it even if you paid for it, but instead have a license from the creator to sell it, make modifications, etc. The creator remains the owner, and they could stop selling PLR rights to others.

A WSO, free or not is supposed to be your own unique product or a unique product you paid someone to create exclusively for you. If PLR were used, it would have to be completely rewritten to be your own unique product.

If you see WSOs selling PLR that is not theirs as the product, report it. The WSO forum does not need a bunch of crap barely disguised PLR as products.
