Hate Gmail's New Look - Ugggg, How To Revert Back To Old!

HI,

Gmails new look is just ugly, want to revert back to the old look. Anyone know??

    I feel the same way on this! The Google support forums seem to say that they dont want to use the old theme because of security and functionality reasons.

    Hmmm...I would hope that if they get enough complaints they will bring it back somehow. (:

    yes goweb,

    I hate it and unfortunatly upon searching google, it seems you cannot revert. Not good.

    I hope they get more complaints, this new look is drab and annoying. Buttons are more hidden, and I do not like it.

      It's awful

      Was always a fan of Gmail but its going downhill..

      They are loosing the plot... seems like to many people trying to justify their roles by creating a new look that was not needed

      As we say in the UK

        I am doing some research and on a few forums, but I have to say the prognosis is not looking good. I will report back if I find anything.

        I hope they revert back of give the option of going back to the old look.

        They are claiming that the old look had security flaws and design issues...but It thought it was pretty good. Typical GOOGLE, I hope they are using google alerts and find this thread.

    I thought gmail's new look was alrite. Not too great but does the job. They've added more functionality into that look, which I like but the design indeed could have been better, as the OP said.

      Google will never change any of their websites for the better.

      Every update will always spoil something.

      YouTube looks absolutely horrible after their last update.

    Apart from the look, it's not even working properly for me.

    The side scroll bar has become veer-r-r-r-y slow - once i slide it down, it takes almost 30-45 seconds for the email text to follow suit, so checking mail is a torture.

    The old design worked perfectly. Why must they strong-arm and meddle, and ruin something good?

    Might have to switch over to another email provider soon if this continues. Such a nuisance!

        You can forget attempting to contact Google concerning this matter. They apparently are dead set on reverting back to the days of using frames.

        I currently have more than 26 Parent labels and each label has no less than 10 Child labels. I used to be able to scan labels and know instantly when mail has come in. NOW, I am forced to hover over the label area, wait for the gadgetry frame to expand and then then start scrolling up and down to check mail.

        Clearly, the brain trust at Google did not think this through. Oh wait! They did think it through and came to the conclusion that what the users desire is a moot point.

        I'm starting the process of checking about Thunderbird, Sparrow and Eudora to process my emails. Hopefully, I can make a decision by the end of this week and get switched over.

        Goodbye Gmail, RIP

    You can't revert...

    but if my memory serves me right, every time there is a theme update, people can't stand it. Eventually they become comfortable with the new look, and soon after, they change it again.

    We must all learn to keep up with the big G, whether it is with their aesthetics or otherwise

    My biggest issue with gmail now, is the lack of contrast between read and unread emails on many of our screens.

    This is even when using their "High Contrast" theme.

    It seems Google's motto recently has changed to "If it ain't broke - let's break it"..... :-(

    This sounds like a classic poor decision from Google, you have to wonder just what they are doing, up there, I started using bing because I found myself spending twice the amount of time trying to find something on Google as Bing its really strange, to watch a company self destruct due to poor management. but that is apparently what is happening who buys a digital product and spends that much money on something that might not be worth half that in less than a year? Google thats who.
