Does anyone else feel that most of the products on this forum that arn't outright crap/scams are still a little silly. Do you feel like the products/websites don't really do much productive/beneficial stuff?

You can get a fair idea of which ones are total crap by looking at the refund rate.

its sad but thats to be expected on these kinds of forums, people will come peddle their trash. there are some golden nuggets of info but unfortunately I haven't made too much with this whole internet marketing thing. too much distraction too little direction.

        Hi CHR

One of the biggest lies you'll find here is the promise of "EASY".

There are no push button solutions. You're either creating products or trying to sell them and no matter how you look at it - Everything involves work.

If "It sounds too good to be true" then it probably is. Unfortunately, newbies come in and get stoked about all the hype that goes into marketing. However, this is the whole point of the sales pitch. And if the sales pitch didn't work then there'd be no marketing. Funny how that works huh?

I liken it to Being IT expert... You can take all the certifications in the world by learning all the theory but when you put it into practice the information just does not work.

For example I know most of the theory of really making money online but putting it into practice is another story!

I could tell you exactly how to make money online but I would be telling you theory -very well worded theory making it look like I actually do make money online! I agree most of it is a con of theory or rehashed material.

  • There are for sure some junk products here on the forum. With that being said I have purchased many WSO's that have a lot of value. I think you have to due your due diligence when selecting a product. Most have a money back guarantee so I figure if I cannot make it work then I will ask for a refund. That very seldom happens as I can usually find at least one golden nugget that justifies buying it.

Shhhh...don't tell anyone else, but I can sell you a super secret formula that will allow you to make 5 bajillion dollars before you wake up in the morning. The only thing you have to do is send me a Western Union payment via Kenya and Nairobi, and shave your dog and color him/her chartreuse. If you have multiple dogs, the second one must be colored magenta.

PM me for the details on the Western Union payment. I will also accept Green Stamps.

Shhh...don't tell anyone else my secrets.

"Silly" isn't against the rules, so there's not much to be done about that.

"Crap" is a matter of opinion. Again, not much that can be done about that, and sometimes what's "crap" to one person is gold to someone with less experience or a different perspective.

If you have evidence that an offer is a scam, report it. Use the little red triangle to the lower left of the post you're reporting, and provide your evidence. We take those reports seriously, and if they're sufficiently proven, we will delete offers and ban sellers.

Just keep in mind that "I don't like this" or "I don't believe this" isn't evidence.

As far as the comment about "most," that doesn't fit with my experience at all. But general comments are things people can argue about all day, and opinions aren't going to change with those discussions.

Yeah. I've noticed that with pretty much whatever products or systems or techniques I buy, I've still got to do an awful lot of work. Oh, sure, a lot of them tell me exactly what work to do and that work will make me money... but I already know lots of things I can do to make me money with work. Where are all the products that do the work for me? I mean, it's almost like there aren't any.

A very valuable treasure also can be a junk if it stays in the hard drive without touching it. I admit I did buy some valuable stuff before and wait it to rot. When I checked back what I have in my 'paid item folder' and read it, that stuff really give me some value from it.

Someone's junk also can be a treasure for other people if it can give some value to them. Maybe something new to them but not for the others.

For quite some time I was staying away from teaching certain things cos I thought they were too basic and not even worth putting on my blog.

Later I realized people are on different stages in their learning, and what is too basic (or junk) to me is actually high value to an absolute beginner.

Once I realized this, and put them up on my blog, even my basic lessons started selling. I was horrified at first, and hoped people would not refund their purchase. Luckily, they didn't.

I use adwords to get traffic to my MMO pages, and wonder why these people don't come to the warrior forum to learn these things for free instead of paying me.

    That is life.

However, I do see here lots of stuff that is just rehashed crap - but thinking from the seller's perspective, maybe it is a great thing he has learned and wants to share it with the world.

What worries me is the testimonials game - I can understand a newbie giving a testimonial or a great review to a rehashed product, but when some experienced warriors do it, I don't know what to think.

I don't trust about 90% of it honestly - I'm knew to this but I've been through the whole "get rich quick" mindset. Easy way to lose money.

      Suzanne,

      Thanks for that reminder.

I took this more seriously before I saw him posting one comment after another, pointing people to the Hostgator coupon link he had in his now-defunct signature file.

Nothing against HG, mind you, Chris. I have a couple of accounts with them myself. But pimping your sig that way isn't really seen as polite behavior...
