Do a lot of internet marketers avoid social sharing?

I'm curious how many of you, and possibly your readers, tend to shy away from website social sharing in the internet marketing scene?

I mean, do you want your Aunt Rose and all your other family and friends (on facebook, twitter, pinterest, some-social-site) to know that you think XYZ's "Fast Action Money In Minutes" article on Moneymoneyandmoremoney.com is great? Or, do you avoid these social cues from blogs to avoid having to answer any questions or judgements those outside of the IM world would pass on you?

Do you think this may be a reason that IM articles on your, my, or any internet marketing blog seem to get so much fewer social shares than articles in the mainstream?

I avoid making business-related status updates on my personal facebook profile. Some people on my list do that and I find it annoying--so i don't do it.

Absolutely NO social website sharing to anyone outside of IM and proof said it right. Seperate accounts are a must. Most of the time Iam on my IM or e-commerce profiles anyway. And depending on what your sharing its sure to bring up the question "Can you really make money doing that"? If you answer no, then you will be seen as the villiage idiot for reading such outlandish rubbish LOL. If you answer yes, then you are doomed to a long email or phone chat about how to do it. And if they are family then you know you have to take the time to show them.

      I agree.

Do you think this is a likely cause of why social sharing of published IM related content pales in comparison to other niche content being shared?

What I do is I try to separate my personal social accounts from my business social accounts. This way if I share something related to Internet Marketing I'm sure that it will target the right audience.

It's kinda like inviting your whole family, friends and people you barely know to share your business office on daily basis.

To me social media is really waste of time. I use business accounts for clients and rarely open my personal accounts.

May be it's me but I simply don't have the time to entertain myself online. I would rather spend more time under the tree than looking at my monitors but hey "that's the life we have chosen" -Godfather movie I believe, so I am just making a living with the help of internets.
