Product Launch with Wordpress on Cloud

Recently i came to know and i also tested Installing and running Wordpress in cloud successfully.
but the actual advantage of the same is worthwhile only when you have a surge of traffic..
Is there anyone here who have tested and found to be successful?
Is there any refinements you did to make it more efficiently working?
