Fiverr is not for five dollars

Fiverr is a great place to start for anyone looking for extra pocket money.

However, many marketers use fiverr not just for the small earnings but for building a highly qualified list.

Think about it - anyone who bought a gig from you, already bought something from you. So there is some kind of trust between you and the buyer.

If played well, I can see that fiverr will be a very profitable list building platform. Small steps to build a huge list of buyers.

If you are planning on doing this way of marketing - remember the golden rule, deliver way more that expected when someone buy your gigs.

I might look into Fiverr, I only heard about it the other day and it sounds very interesting. Maybe a good way to pay for the hosting etc. of my current venture before it pays for itself or falls flat on it's face!

I use Fiverr to sell ebooks and build my list, but the money is really made from backend sales off Fiverr.

I wrote a post here on the WF on how I made $900 selling one ebook on Fiverr. You can read it by clickling on the link below:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...one-ebook.html

      I hope this helps,

They pocket $1 so you'll end up earning $4 per gig, last time I checked.

I did a little on fiverr a while back. Until I realized I was spending sooo much time on something that was earning me $4 a pop. But now I am a little desperate, so I am going back. I like that they have added the "gig extras". The first two orders I recieved both added the gig exrtas, so I earned $8 instead of $4. That is a little more worth my time. So....don't forget to offer something in the gig extras!

Could you explain what you mean by backend sales?? Do you somehow get in touch with them outside of fiverr, or you just create a new gig depending on what other services they need?

I hear so many stories of other marketers making money by selling ebooks on fiverr and using upsells and what not for bigger profits. I have not been able to make a single cent using fiverr and I have been at it for about a month... sad day

Fiverr isn't as easy as it used to be. You either have to

      1) Really make your gig stand out, or

      2) Market it outside of Fiverr.

      Preferably both.

I agree with what you are saying here.

Many of the gigs I have purchased have ways to contact the seller off of Fivver so you can continue to order from them etc.

It's a smart concept and as long as they focus their time on building those relationships they will continue to get repeat customers. I wouldn't mind lowering my price once to let someone see what my services can offer them!

    You make a good point

Fiverr is a decent place to build a list of good, relevant people.

If you do a good enough job, people WILL want to hire you for further jobs. Most people in internet marketing are looking for good workers to build long term relationships with.

I don't think that stands for all fiverr community adana.

I buy and sell from fiverr for a long time and met some great people there. Just like anything else in life you find good and bad in every community.

Adana - Your really down on Fiverr. As a seller on Fiverr who is none of the above I can understand where you are coming from....i.e. Fiverr does have a larger than normal concentration of BH type techniques than most sites.........but seriously.......malware and viruses?

I am asking because I am seriously curious on what it is that turned you off so much specifically? Did you buy a few bad gigs.......or.......???

A huge segment of Fiverr has people like Old Biddie Grandma and the guy who calls people as Christopher Walken......you can get a love poem.......

Fiverr consists of so much more.

I use Fiverr for a lot of design gigs for cheap. You can get amazing value.

Don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch for you. There are so many amazing gigs on fiverr that have saved me hours.

Depends on what you buy and who you deal with. It's not like this all across the board.

Fiverr is awesome all ways round or the buyer and seller. But like anything both parties need to do their proper research to win win ! Ive definitely hired two or three contracters off there that I lost a few days of work on. Didn't lose any money though. It just seems like alot of people willing to take on any job for a gig and then try to charge you more gigs. Or the seller comunication skills with poor attitude, quick to drop your job.

The other day I hired someone to convert html files to wordpress. I first posted a job on elance and found out its gonna run me around 175. So I went over to fiverr sent a bunch on messages. Took a while to get some responses. The first guy that seemed fit forthe job told me 120 I was in a super hurry so I went for it. Minutes later someoe else tells me $10 I ask the original guy to match price, he declines offers to refund which I accept. We did go outside of fiverr cause he was complaining about the fees so I sent him paypal. Well this guy ended up sending me a fake paypal notification of refund and I was so busy I didnt notice till two days later when I actually checked my account.Dang crook, I offered to pay him $10 for a hour that he claimed to have worked. But I ended up having to get paypal involved and I got a full refund a hour later.

That was like my third experience with fiverr. I was almost ready to kick rocks. But i've spent more time on there now and have a better understanding for their platform and I love it. We just need to realize there are scammers everywhere and we just need to protect ourself and conduct our own research.

Also on the other side of the stick for someone trying to make money on there. Fiverr will work best if you can deliver products or services that take you no time at all to produce to no more then 5 minutes. This is how you can make some serious dough. Then you offer like 20 different gigs on there. You also need to make sure there is a high demand for what you are offering. Competition is good, you will kill them by offering better service and building a better feedback. Making sure that everyone leaves you a feedback.

Few years back, people used to talk about outsourcing their task to Odesk. Now people talk about Fiverr only.

After a year or so Fiverr will dominate the outsourcing marketplace.

No.. If you do it correctly then nothing is bad. Some people run senuke in wrong way and hence harm their sites. You should hire an expert to run senuke for you.

I have been using fiverr for some time now, (less than a year), both for buying and selling. I have had 98% positive experiences and am definitely keeping on there.

I have met some great people and have picked up a few steady SEO clients that I now work with outside of fiver.

So far I made over $800 on fiverr, I could have made more, but I choose to backoff a bit because it was taking up too much of my time.

  • Hi Kursat, from Fiverr launch date I used i firstly for selling, and it worked greatly because many of my gig buyers became personal customers for high priced items and coachings.

And also as a buyer, I got many experience on how sellers work for their businesses.
So I'm perfectly in accord with you Kursat, you hit the target!

    See you soon,

Fiverr is a good place to outsource SEO. Sometimes you might get more bang for the buck out there than buying services in forums if you can mix and match fiverr deals from one deal with another as long as its still within your budget.
