Selling Ebooks On JVZoo and E-Junkie

Hey Warriors,
I've tried looking on both E-junkie and JVZoo for help but there's really nothing on there. I'm new to selling and having affiliates sell things for me.
I've got a great guitar niche ebook called "Guitar Made Easy".
Guitar Made Easy is an ebook that tells you exactly what to do, exactly where to start and exactly what to practice in terms of playing guitar. Most guides now days overwhelm the reader with all kinds of complex theory off the bat, Guitar Made Easy breaks everything down so anyone can understand it.
Guitar Made Easy also comes with a free offer... a 15 page Ebook that teaches you "How To Get Laid With Guitar". It's another great book and tells you personal accounts of how I personally used guitar to meet girls and how to get laid by using your guitar skills.
Currently I've got the deal on E-junkie for $17.47 for Guitar Made Easy and I throw in "How To Get Laid With Guitar for FREE with purchase of Guitar Made Easy. I offer a 25% cut to anyone who makes affiliate sales for me on both sites.
I signed up for JVZoo and E-junkie and here's what happened from there.
  • E-junkie, I immediatlely got 3 affiliates to signup the first day and then it magically no one else. Why were these 3 so eager all at once and then it just dropped off and I have yet to see another affiliate sign up since? None of these affiliates have made any sales.
  • JVZoo, I got one affiliate to signup day one, I got 1 on day three and that it. It also just dropped off and both affilaites have yet to make any sales.
Whats the deal?! I've heard stories of people with absolutely NO effort getting approx. 3 new affiliates to signup and sell for them daily on each of the networks. Am I doing anything wrong? It's a great offer and practically sells itself! I'm teaching internet dudes how to get laid with a few guitar tricks for $17.47. Why did everything "stall" all the sudden?
I thought about clickbank but don't want to pay 50$ just for them to review my product and I hear theres a TON of returns/refunds on your goods on there.
Thanks guys! Any help would be appreciated.

The deal is that 25% is far too low. 75% is almost standard now, and some sellers give affiliates 100% on the front end, and make all their profit on the back-end.

Seemed like a lot to me at the start ('I'm going to give someone more than half of my sales?')... but the affiliate is providing the traffic- either from the list they have built, from their own sites, what have you. Without traffic, you don't have a business.

      ^This.

25% of $17 is what, $4? No thanks- it'd be much easier for me to just create my own $17 product, add a few things to what you created, and keep 100% of the commissions.

This sounds like it would be a better fit for Clickbank, despite the drawbacks you mention. A lot of the niche(non-IM) products on JVZOO offer PLR rights as well, so a straight niche ebook may not be the best choice there.

Thanks guys, what are plr rights?

    Thanks!

PLR Rights are private label rights where you are giving others permission to rebrand the content and market it as their own.

It stands for private label rights, you sell the rights for others to change the material, put their name on it, etc.

Hei, why not you search for other music related site owner that has a list, ask them to become your affiliate. You can look into those teaching how to sing or drum lesson, approach them and ask them to become your JV.

Do most people wait to see if they get conversions on their own website before selling on clickbank or just create a product and put it on clickbank? I have an eBook that I have written in the fitness niche and sadly can't give the thing away for free as a gift to opt-in on a site. I'll be honest, the book is good (my opinion) but my marketing sucks and I am looking for a way to start getting it in front of people for free and then maybe selling it.

No ones going to jump at the chance of 25% commission.

Nowadays, if you're not offering a minimum of 70%, you're not going to get many affiliates.

Do you have a sales funnel in place after someone purchases your e-book?

In my opinion, try not to look at the e-book as your source of income... the money you make will come on the back end as you develop a relationship with the buyers and they proceed through your sales funnel.

Offer affiliates a high commission so they start getting people into your sales funnel.

@svsets10 that's exactly what I did, i first went the ejunkie route and made a sales page from scratch with dreamweaver, then I linked all the buy buttons to my ejunkie purchase link through my paypal, ejunkie handles everything. Ejunkie's great and I was getting about 6 sales a month at 5$ per ebook. I thought that was a bit low conversion rate considering the amount of traffic I get on my site. So I raised the price to 17.47 and threw in the free "how to get laid" ebook. I've sold 1 in about 2 weeks so far. I changed it to that price point because 5$ (I was told) actually devalues my ebook. So right now I'm trying $17.47.

To be honest, my best ebook sales come from amazon kindle book sales. They keep 30% but seems to get the most exposure on ther@e. Planning to go itunes soon!

@jaynketh that's a great idea!!! Thank u! One question tho, how do I find other guitar sites with lists? Is there any shortcut?

@trevorm Sales funnel, no not yet, the ebook is my high end product, it tells the consumer everything and If i understand sales funneled correctly, shouldn't you offer the affiliates a low end product?

I'm a little bit confused on the sales funnel idea, could you elaborate? Maybe I could work in the sale of the "how to get laid with guitar" first and "sales funnel" my primary guitar ebook? Thanks trevor m!!

My site is guitarmadeez.com if u wanna see the sales page page, click on the ebook link on the toolbar

    Thanks!

It doesn't have to be a low priced item the affiliates promote, if that's what you mean

Basically with the sales funnel you can get affiliates to promote your initial $17 e-book to get people onto your list. Whether you offer a one-time-offer (OTO) is up to you.

I don't know if you have one right now... but this could be an e-book with extra songs with instructions on how to play them or something similar.

When they're on your list you want to establish a good relationship with them. You can do this by giving them free information, free e-books, advice etc.

Then once you've started to build a relationship and they know you know your stuff you can begin to sell them again...

You could create and promote another one of your own products or YOU could be the affiliate and offer other people's products.

The good thing about the sales funnel and e-mail marketing is it's set and forget. So you can continue making money from the e-mail sequence without ever having to touch it.

Sorry this wasn't to me... thought I'd answer it anyway

I recommend heading to Google and doing a simple google search of 'guitar blog'.

Go through the list and check out all the blogs. Any blogs with an opt-in form on their blog, save their blogs address in notepad or word.

Once you've found a fair few e-mail them all and let them know about your product and ask them to become an affiliate. Too easy

      Good luck!

Yes, I would have suggest the same thing as well.
And another way, look into clickbank for music related products and contact them. May get rejected, but no harm contacting

    @TrevorM You are the man!

I actually have a list going right now - I started it up about 3 months ago through get response and it keeps growing about 3 people by the day. I've got about 100 total right now. Didn't know that that was considered "sales funneling".

I plan to connect more with it in the near future but havent done really anything with it as of now.

Trevor m, do you have any good free links or free ebooks that help you learn how to make money with your list? I've heard 20% of your weekly/daily messages you sell them something... that's all know.

I offer a "free report" or guitar tips to people who signup for my list. Thanks TrevorM!

    You rock bro!

I agree with what the other warriors have said. Increase the commission and you will get more affiliates with more of an incentive to promote you product.
You could also offer an affiliate competition to get them working harder offering bonuses and prizes for making more sales.

    Hope this helps

In order to make some sales you just need to have a good product coupled with a really great sales page. A lot of people try to make their own sales page and then wonder why their product isn't doing very well.

The same goes for getting affiliates. You need to have good affiliate offers coupled with a great sales page designed to pull in affiliates. It seems that people often forget about the need to sell themselves to their affiliates as well.

Affiliates are in this to make money for themselves. They aren't as concerned with how great the product is as they are with how much they will make on each sale. They're also concerned with how well the product will sell to a target audience. Most affiliates will only direct traffic to your sales page so most affiliates will make sure to see if you have an effective sales page.

You could also try marketing to a more targeted market. Most products aimed at people on Warrior Forum will relate to internet marketing in one way or another. Some people may play guitar, or will be interested in learning, but you'll have better luck on a music forum, for example.

      Best of luck!
