What Makes Grown Men Weep Like A Newborn...

As freakish as this may sound I'm actually thinking of showing my face in public and do live seminars/events.

Does anyone know of a solid resource about the ins and outs of this? I like to get my expectations in line with reality before hitting "go".

Looking for stuff like:

How to organize

How to promote

Basically I want to see the full range of what's involved so I don't look like a total idiot. (First time out the door I'm willing to settle for 65% idiot)

Anyone? Anyone?

Ok, I haven't had live events but I've attended many and these are my observations from an attendee...

    1. Make sure your room is big enough b/c cramped rooms suck for learning.

    2. Put water urns in the room so people can get a drink w/o leaving the room.

    3. Crank up the A/C b/c the room will heat up with the people inside.

    4. Provide built-in breaks every 2 hours at the most, if not shorter blocks.

    5. Be animated and use subtle sales tactics not blatant pitches.

Those are just some observations from my experience with live events. Hope that gives you some ideas!

Why don't you partner up with someone who's done this before until you get the hang of it?
Yes, I plan to. Not a fan of going at it alone. But the reason I'm asking is I like to spend quality time acknowledging the fact there are people in this forum who know A LOT more than me about many a topic. Figured I'd check with the "shadow elite" before making my move.

Never hurts to ask questions... unless you're asking directions then it's a personal problem

Rachel Rofe was offering a packet of awesome stuff to get going on such things. If I recall correctly.

I remember getting it and being absolutely amazed at how thorough it was. At some point in the next couple of years I'll put it to good use.

Anyway, sorry I don't have the link but she is a Warrior and I'm sure you can find her here.

    Hope that helps a little,

    Chai
