You can't learn IM through osmosis

As useful and insightful as the WF is, there's truly no better teacher than falling flat on your face, picking yourself up, and doing it all over again. Though I've gained a breadth of knowledge from WF, reading various material, attending conferences and the like, nothing has taught me more or given more insight than doing this all myself. Over the last few years I've messed up more than once, and tanked some solid sites. Though it is great to learn from the mistakes from our fellow peers - you don't know what a burn feels like until you actually touch the stove.

If you're on the fence about IM, or anything else in life - take a leap of faith. It might hurt in the beginning, but you'll be a better person because of it.

  • Hey there Ashera, I know you're right - but I suffer badly with 'shiny new toy' syndrome!

I've been fa**ying about on the fringes of the 'net for sooo long now and STILL haven't taken the plunge. Maybe its not for me? Or maybe I haven't grasped the concept yet that you MUST work at it to make it happen..... :-)

I guess my major problem - apart fom lack of confidence/experience that is, is lack of funds! Any idea how I can start making money from zero investment? :-)

    • George, look into Squidoo lenses. It's a good start with 0 upfront investment. As long as you write some great content and find some good niches, you can make a little bit of cash. From there buy a domain - install WP on it- if you need me to host it or help you out let me know and I'll host a domain for you for free.
  • You really can't do IM by osmosis? I knew I was doing something wrong...lol
