What does it generally take to get a squeeze page noticed?

When you start a new project.

After getting squeeze page together and have some emails ready in your autoresponder, about how much work and how long does it usually take you to get traffic coming?

Put yourself in here, not looking at what anyone else would do. Say I knew about how to do proper keyword research and had some great keywords. Getting articles written and distributed. Getting Facebook and Twitter going. Etc.

I'd like to know about how you'd go about getting traffic to your squeeze page.

I like to get many people's input, because everyone does something a little different. One way may work for that person, but takes something totally different for someone else.

What types of media do you like using best?

Do you prefer the articles side? How many articles do you write before you actually start seeing results?

Where do you feel you get the majority of your traffic from?
Do you get more visitors from a blog?

    Easy. Join a handful of high traffic, niche related forums and start posting. You'll get plenty of subscribers from your sig link if you're a helpful poster. It's an old-school technique that still works very well.

    You can also comment on recent posts @ high traffic, niche related blogs. It's almost the same concept.

      I agree with this. However, from my experience, the success of forum marketing depends on the niche, to some extent. In the niche I operate in, the forum members appear to be very suspicious of signature links, so I have to be more subtle about it.

      YouTube videos have been excellent, as has article syndication and Facebook advertising.

      One tip I picked up from here, is to build a squeeze page, that is linked to a simple blog, on the same site. This way, if you add relevant, good quality content gradually to your blog, you'll also gain some organic Google rankings, which will be a useful traffic source too

    Hi Brian,

    Look at Internet Marketing like Fishing.

    The more hooks in the water the better chance to catch fish. (right?)

    If your website is new, it would take some time to get organic traffic (depending on targeted keywords of course). What I like to do is spend a few dollars first with Facebook ads and search ads, while my link building strategy is in the works.

    Now when I say spend dollars, I mean like $50 per week for a duration of 3 months or so is a good start. This generates instant traffic in a matter of minutes. Be sure to have a "FREEBIE" to give away as an incentive to optin. Then sell to them later!

    As far as article marketing, it's no longer effective in my opinion. I've literally had all my articles in Ezinearticles and the rest of the article directories traffic totally DISAPPEAR after last years Panda update. COMPLETELY! And the truth is THE TRAFFIC NEVER CAME BACK TO THIS DAY! I no longer waste my time with articles marketing.

    Find other sources to post articles to other than free blog sites & article directories. You must be a little creative, but should avoid what the "CROWD" does, they're usually wrong.

    Oh yeah, you can spend as little as .05 per click & per 1000 impression with ads. It's a cheap kickstart to get traffic.

    Three or four. It's almost always three or four, for me.

    I get nearly 80% from article marketing, and a bit under 20% from search engines (including Google, of course). And a little from a variety of other places (forums, blog comments, Yahoo Answers, whatever).

    I get visitors to my blogs, not from them. My blogs are my "money sites" with my opt-in, and everything.

    I don't do a lot to try to attract SEO traffic because it's just not a solid, stable basis for building a business. As so many Warriors have found out over the last year or so, some of them to their very great cost (as you can see, if you have the time to read enough threads here!), a business that depends on Google for its primary traffic is only ever going to be one algorithm-change away from a potential accident, or even a potential disaster.

    Besides which, SEO traffic also converts significantly less well for me, overall, in every single niche in which I have a site.

      I agree - SEO will get your page noticed, as will social marketing. It takes time and a lot of work but it can be done.

    I am a newbie too, and I actually started my internet business a few days ago. However, I am already receiving subscriptions and sales. I went for tons of workshop and I can finally categorize non- SEO traffic to these five types.

    1. Article marketing : By writing articles related to your keywords, it adds your ranking and creates many backlinks and clicks to your web, besides branding you. Just submit articles to Ezine articles( use it a lot), and start building traffic. Oh yeah, you can also get others to write for you if you are not one for writing. Something like freelancers.com should work for you well ! Post as many articles as you can as fast as you can to get better results.

    2. Video marketing : Make and post videos on youtube with your link! Make it funny or interesting and soon viewers will be flocking your site. As long as the content you give them is good, youtubers generally will see it. You can also make videos of you reading out the articles you have written and posted, it might be boring but at least it has good info!

    3. Blogging : Frankly, I am still trying it out and it is not really working for me, but other bloggers say that it is working for them. Just post a blog every day or two and try to put in good content in it. It seems you can also write it in a diary sorta style, as long as it is interesting! Use wordpress.

    4. Solo Ads : Paid traffic that does not guarantee subscribers. It is a great way to start out when your list is low, but start out slow. Test the waters first. See how many clicks or subscribers you are getting with them and reevaluate the worth of the solo ads. Generally, if you can get a certain amount of subscriptions or sales then, it is worth investing on. Really the trial and error system for internet marketing.

    5. Classified Ads : UsFreeAds is the classified ads strategy I am using right now. There are actually more targeted people to your niche by marketing it with classified ads. And besides it ranks fine on Alexa, the traffic ranking is 1k++ which is considered not bad. You might wanna try it out too !

    I think it's important to mention there are at least 2 major factors to the success of any squeeze page.

    1. Traffic
    2. Quality of the squeeze page

    Traffic is obvious. You need people to come to your site. There are a number of ways to do this. I would suggest attaching the squeeze page to a blog about the subject. This way you could market the blog and the blog would market the squeeze page. This is a modern, Panda friendly, approach.

    You could also just spam the link all over the web and hope for the best but I don't think that's working well for the majority of people that do it.

    The quality of squeeze page is important because this will determine the conversions. You can get 1,000 visitors and never get one email submission. You could get 100 visitors to a good squeeze page and get 50 or more email submissions. The difference is in how enticing your squeeze page is.

    This is determined by the copy and graphics. You can also include a video to help boost conversions. One of the best ideas is to offer something for free. This can be a report, a chapter, a program, anything you'd like. The offer allows people to submit their email in exchange for something. Without a free offer, you're asking them to give you their email just because you asked.

    I am getting very good conversions out of my squeeze page at the moment - around the 50% mark (the mma one in my sig. - take a look).

    I think the key is to address the main concerns of the market, and offer them something free (like an Ebook) that will solve their problems. Also, ask yourself, "would I subscribe to this?". Keep it simple, punchy, relevant and addressing the key concerns of your market

    Use free marketing to get alot of traffic. You have forums, blogs, article marketing, seo, joint ventures, youtube, etc. Just do them on a weekly basis, and dont give up.
