Why does 'www.mydomain.com' load, while 'mydomain.com' doesn't seem to exist?

Today, I registered a new domain at the GoDaddy site, and I set up my new site.

I noticed that www.mydomain.com loads my site, like it is supposed to, but 'mydomain.com (without the 'www' part) brings up some sort of search portal page (see it here)

I was told this was probably caused by a DNS problem, and that I should check my DNS setup. I tried, but all the info I got meant nothing to me.

I don't know where to go from here...

Actually, this is in your web host's server setup. It should have automatic redirects from Something. to something.com. Just ask your hosting provider.

My old website did something like that, I think it just needs a little time to update the DNS servers, so wait it out for a bit and if nothing still then maybe contact godaddy.

Yes, everyone is correct. It is the web hosting not the registrar.
They need to have your account setup so that when either is loaded in the browser they are taken to the same page.
