Clickbank DROPS Versign for Norton Secured "Powered By Verisign" affecting conversion rates?

Did anyone else notice that the Verisign logo on Clickbank checkout pages has now been replaced with a Norton Secured logo powered by verisign?

I am wondering if this will have any affect on conversion rates. The verisign logo was a powerful trust builder and is well known by consumers. Yes, it's expensive to put on your website, and I can only think that Clickbank wanted to save a few bucks. But at who's expense? Only time will tell.

Anyone else notice this or see a drop in conversions?

I doubt it will make any difference.

A lot of people have no idea what Verisign is and many haven't yet caught onto the "Norton is bad" fad...

Most computers in the UK come with Norton.

Maybe people will associate them with security. No idea what the reputation is in the US.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if Clickbank could no longer afford the Verisign fees, or if they at least became too cost-prohibitive. Clickbank is on a financial downslide, less and less affiliates are promoting their products, and refund/chargeback rates have dramatically increased.

I will call you crazy, because literally nothing you said is even remotely true. Please provide a link or source to back up your ridiculous claims.

Nope. If you know, you know. If you don't, you're you.

Man, you must be promoting all the wrong products to
      not experience any keepers.

That wasn't based on personal experience. I was speaking across-the-board and based on conversations with my contact at Clickbank.

What you're saying only really applies the the "Make Money" crowd as this crowd know how to game the refunds plus a lot of IM products are using other payment processors now.

But I'll tell you now, selling non IM related products on Clickbank is great. I have a few products in non IM markets and I hardly get refunds on them.

"Across-the-board" means network-wide, not just in one category.

So Clickbank is not good to use as a payment provider? Sounds like they get a lot of refunds and chargebacks. It would be interesting to see some hard numbers before the baby is thrown out with the bath water!

If you are so worried about it you can say in your sales pitch: "We will process your transaction through 'Norton' the same company that makes the world's leading anti-virus program, so you don't have to worry about security issues..."

It's always worth a test that's for sure... And people do notice even if they don;t pay attention to it. There is a lesson for all newbies here... If something isn't converting don;t quit and move on to the next shiny object. Instead, test and make it work!

Just found out that the Norton Secured seal is "powered by Verisign"...so it's not an alternative product, it's just branded differently now.

The VeriSign Trust Seal is now the Norton Secured Seal | Symantec

The same has happened on one site of mine also. Hasn't affected any sales. No increase or decrease.
