Is any decent blog worth converting to PDF and putting on scribd?

And can someone tell me what the benefits would be of doing such a thing.
(I've heard it get recommended before on these forums)

Would a PDF be viewed as duplicate content by search engines?

    It may be duplicate content, but it is a different format. You're not trying to rank it for people to see it, but for the backlink that it would provide. Time will tell if this method remains relevant.

    No, seriously, when was the last time you found a blog post from a real blog on scribd as a pdf. I have never seen that. That means whoever does it is trying to spam scribd in order to get some backlinks.
