How to spot an internet marketer in public...?

You can tell what certain people are into just by what they're wearing, what music they're listening to, what book/ magazine they're reading, the car they drive, etc.

Is there a certain characteristic of an IMer that you can spot if you saw one on the street?

I think it would be so cool to meet some randomly out there in the off-line world; I can talk about IM all day and would love to meet some people around my area (San Diego).

I did drive down the street the other week and one guy's vanity license plate read "ILUVSEO" (the car was a newer BMW 5 series). I thought that was cool; that's the closest I've ever been to an "IMer" on the street.

Have you met an IMer in the offline world randomly???

They tend to have big pockets: full of money

They walk slower as well because all the money they make, that is in their pockets get's really heavy after a while

Who knows... Maybe your neighbor is a full time IM'er and you never knew?

    Cheers

That bacon thing sounds impressive... in a retro sort of way.

As for ourselves, the whole point of those exclusive t-shirts is that their inbuilt RFID tags automatically exchange PM's containing our secret digital handshake when in close proximity, via means of the nearest public WiFi hotspot.

Problem is, because none of us ever go out the house except during internet outages, it's never been confirmed to work.

I suggest a shirt like the Dr. Pepper t's. "I'm an internet marketer"

or perhaps "I'm an IM" to increase open rate (curiosity and have people ask what IM means)
      ===================

I had a guy buy something from me off Craigslist recently. Younger 22 year old guy driving an Infinity GS30. I just knew he was an internet marketer so i asked him..

Turns out he was just moving out of his parents house.. Spoiled brat.. LOL

He was far from an internet marketer. He started explaining to me how this kid on a certain website had an ad where he was making tons of money from placing links... sound familiar?

      Gave me a good laugh..

TO answer the question, the usual look I guess is not rushing in and out of starbucks; wears khaki shorts with maybe flip flops or just an all around comfortable look.

Looks care free and not worried about what's going on around them...

      Great post..

True - if someone is writing articles on Ezine - I would think they are involved with IM one way or the other...

I'm with you there - I've introduced people to IM but never met someone already in IM.

We're in shorts and a T-shirt getting groceries at 1 pm on a Wed or any day of the week.

We're hanging out in coffee shops on the laptop for 4 hours at a stretch.

We're checking sales, subscriber stats and Warrior Forum on the phone waiting to pay for groceries.

We answer the door in a robe at 11 am.

We meet the mail delivery person in our robe during the first week of the month eagerly anticipating cheque delivery.

I happened to know some guys who are WF members. Weird thing is: several guys, they are pretty active in WF, but they are not earning much. But, the guys who listen more and speak less, they are earning $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Good point - there are a lot of outspoken people making really good money on WF and there are a bunch who are silently killing it too; it really depends on the invidual's personality type IMO.
