Where to submit articles?

I'm thinking of promoting my website through articles -- I'll write something on a topic I know, as advice, and I'll include a link to my site at the bottom of the article.

1. Are there distribution sites where I can submit articles like these, where other people will come along and take the article and use it on their site as content? So they get the content and I get the link?

2. Presumably some distribution sites will tend to have more quality articles than others. Which sites of this type would be the quality ones?

3. Obviously doing this could work to bring some people on to my site. Does this also tend to be good for SEO?

Thank you for the mention, but I am
still primarily a forum marketer... I only
            learned about proper syndication less
than a year ago when I found the
Warrior Forum, and I learned 99% of
what I know from the other people
on the list (and a few others such
            as yourself!)

So while I've had great success with
article syndication up to this point,
I am far from being an "expert"!

I don't think I've done it enough to be an expert like some of the others in that list either (4th month now); but I've got the theory down to a "t" (and yes, everything I actually have done so far proves that the theory is correct) . If it'll help me pick up chicks though, call me an expert all day every day!

THanks, there is a lot of people in here that think about article marketing the wrong way.

Myself am in some very popular and obsure niches, but I can either write a good 800 word article, or get it outsourced.... the thing is over the last few years I have done the research or paid someone to find the right people or even like distribution houses or other well know resources in several niches and formed relationship with these people.

Whether you like it or not, these people crave for content. They have many members, and these are growing each and every day, so to be the best, you have to offer your members the best content.

Get this, every month I have 3 or 4 publishes that actually email me asking for a new article. And I know that if I spend a day or so writing a good 1000 word article, and they post it, its going to get some very good views, and those views normally turn into people going to my squeeze page and opting in and becoming a buyers.

I am in the financial niche and back in january actually had one of my articles published in the economist magazine. I thought it might work out ok, but holy heck, the amount of new subscribers, sales and people emailing me was insane. And this is just one of about several thousands resources / publications that I have available to me in this niche.

You need to think about two things with article marketing now...can the bum marketing method, that is not going to get you far at all nowadays.

            1) you need to have a magazine quality, or high quality content. I would say 800 - 1000 words. These work the best for us.

            2) YOu need to get backlinks, and then banklinks to those backlinks to your articles. But you need to become an article marketer...not just a spammer that spams to ezine and all the rest of the directories out there.

while article directory spamming (what is referred to as BUM MARKETING) will get you some good results. It is not really a good way to go about getting traffic, to your squeeze pages and sales.

People in 2012 want and crave more high quality content now to trust you and to dip into your business and see what else you have on tap for them. YOu have to give them a few reasons for them to see what you have, not just a 300 word mediocre article hoping the like it. The internet is changing and the audience out there. Ask any marketing guru, these guys normally have to give away or lost money on the front end, because people want more nowadays and need more of you trust. I am not saying this is key, but its good if you want your business to thrive. Think high quality first.

So you need to first create awesome content and then house that content and do the leg work to get it infront of the right people.

Yes, you are going to have to take time out of your day to find the right, publications, communities, forums, press houses, newspaper journals, trade journals, websites, blogs, classsified, magazines, ezines, memberships.

Remember these are the guys that are constantly looking for new stuff and good content all the time. And they have new memberships to their communities joining all the time, so you are not getting the same viewers looking all the time, you have new eyes, old eyes and the inbetween. You also have the lookers, the buyers and everyone else you can think of. The main thing is that you cannot get more targeted than this, and since 2010 this I feel is about 10000 times better than bum marketing ever was.

Just think of yourself more as a MARKETER of HIGH QUALITY information. If you can get your head around that, and not just think of writing 1 article and spreading that around to 3 or 4 directories, the results you see will be incredible.

With 1 article in any niche, you have literally thousands of places you can put that article to get massive leverage, optins, sales and even JV's. Yes! ok, I agree it sounds easy but you have to find these places first.

So spend an hour out of each day finding them, and adding them to your database. Then you do not have to do so much looking as your list gets bigger. Like I said I can write and article today, a really good one, and then post it up tomorrow to about 80 - 100 high quality communities and get optins, sales, jv's guaranteed in the days following.

Work hard, formulate relationships, test and test what I have written here and learn the real art of syndication by testing and seeing what is working and what is not. Soon you will become a very ASTUTE ARTICLE MARKETER and not just a spammer of 400 or so words to places, where people happen to stumble across your article by accidents.

Think targeted, and get targeted, and syndicat properly and you will be flabbergasted with the results. I promise.

Those are good threads to read, Great suggestion Joe- I would also add that you want to make sure the content on your website is every post, every page, is media rich, video, audio, links to other authority sites. That will help your site more than tons of articles pointing at your site! Good Luck!

    Yes, some.

Generally the ones most relevant to your niche which you manage to find, to offer them re-publishing rights to your articles.

Places like Ezine Articles are a way of trying to do this passively (i.e. making articles available and hoping they're syndicated). That can be very worthwhile, but active syndication (contacting people and offering them an article) is a better bet.

Very much better than less relevant backlinks, yes.

Many people here seem to think the opposite. Apart from a few Warriors promoting Squidoo-related services in their signature-files (or in WSO's, or on Fiverr), many of the successful article marketers seem to have abandoned it now - even for backlinking purposes - and for some very good reasons, actually: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6105586

In my experience, creating backlinks from dofollow forums like WarriorForum.com and Submitting Guest Posts on popular and decent/high PR blogs (2-10) is the best way forward. If you have the time to spare, posting comments might be useful, but some blog/site owners make external links nofollow from time to time making the links nearly worthless.

Currently, Keyword Density and regular updates are the main factors in Google's Ranking Algo.

Here are some additional thing: placing an image in every article helps your article get indexed quickly by google. Google loves images in articles. Also, it's best to publish your articles in your website first, once indexed, you can submit them to various article directories for syndication.

Alas, no! Please excuse my pointing out that it's a dreadful one.

In fact, it isn't even a list of article directories at all. Very few of the top ten on that list are actually article directories!

It's dreadfully out of date. Some of them don't exist any more. Some were never article directories. Some of the ones that used to be article directories now have a completely different business model. I appreciate that you meant well, by posting it here, but the reality is that it's just misinformation, I'm afraid.

Article submission sites which are not directories have totally different purposes, functions and acceptance criteria. The ways one can use them to help one's business are completely different, but that list just mixes them all up - directories and non-directories together.

For anyone who wants to start by learning what an article directory is, and how to use them, this thread may help: How do Article Directories work?

Specifically, nobody should imagine that trying to use article directories "to attract potential customer traffic" is a good or sensible thing to do: it's actually a complete misuse of article directories: not only won't it help your business, but it can even actively damage it, for all the reasons explained in this post.

While I agree that EZA is probably the best, I certainly wouldn't tell people to not bother looking for other directories. That would be ignorant. You need to find where the publishers you want go to syndicate content, and post there. That may be EZA, it may be Joe's Article Emporium.

Article distribution is a key for promoting your business as well as website.
The article should be unique and more specific on the topic.
Also there should not be keyword stuffing.

    Applegreensnake,
There are many article submission and sharing sites. There are 2 main ones I use are articlebase and articlesnatch. The reason for this is because they review your articles and can get them approved within minutes. They also have a very good page rank so your articles and keywords will get highly ranked in the search engines.
