        Yep,

        I actually had 80,000+ at one time, but this year I did a really big cleanup of my business, deleted old products, got rid of tirekickers, etc.. down to about 30k now..

          How did you get rid of tirekickers?

          How can you tell they are not potential buyers?

          Did you have to remove their email address manually?

    I'm the same as Jeff, I took at list of 30,000 down to just 6,000.

    It's not how big your list is, it's how responsive it is.. I still make the same $$ with 6,000 as I was when I had 30,000 but i pay less in AR fees

    Why would you ditch that many subscribers... To me that dosent make sense. Something smells fishy. Especially because you both have partially incomplete sites in your sig.

      what's fishy about deleting leads that aren't active? no use in having subscribers on your list if they aren't opening emails or clicking links... Just a waste of time emailing them if they aren't responding...

      As I first said, I'm still making the same amount of cash from 6k as I was from 30k...

    I have 7 in IM niche which I got just a few days ago and I have 0 in the forex niche.

    I just want to ask 2 questions to Spencer and Carson:

    Does article marketing really work for list building?

    Another question: Does SEO work for list building?

    Solo ads are very expensive... so please avoid that topic but I'm just about to employ 2 article re-writers rewriting 150 PLR articles, is that a good way to publish those articles on the squeeze page blog and build your list? and then spin the PLR to post it on different article marketing sites?

      About article marketing, due to recent google updates and drop of top article directories like ezienarticles.com, you will have to put more effort to get the articles to the top.

      Regarding SEO, you sure can do seo for your squeeze page by targeting one or two specific keyword. Also you can do seo for your blog posts containing your optin box.

      Build quality diverse backlinks. Link diversity is important because that's what looks natural in Google eyes. If you just keep in building profile links or any one particular type of links, it's easy for google to know that you are building those links yourself. Natural links will always be diverse, just like a breaking news that spreads like wildfire where everyone will be talking about it. There will be articles, blog posts, videos, social network talks, forum talks, press releases and what not. If you can build links in such a diverse fashion, google will reward you with top ranking. Because Google will see your site, the same way it see's a breaking news site.

      Before going with SEO, start with simple strategies - Make use of social networks, start facebook group and fan page, make use of the viral aspect of social networks... Make use of forum signatures. There are tonnes of free ways, which you will find out once you make your first few steps.

    I have 7,600 subscribers but am looking to increase that number by quite a bit over the coming months. I'm also going to start working with my list more and going to try my utmost to offer as much value to them as possible.

    Especially with the way Google is going, email marketing is going to be one of the most solid and consistant ways in which to progress in IM. Have you noticed an increase in threads regarding email marketing and list building. I have.
