Fiverr - Full time? My story

First of all i'd like to say that i'm not a newbie, over the course of the last 15 years I have invested over 100K on various internet marketing products and have a wide range of knowledge, more importantly i'd like to say that I take my time VERY seriously and do not waste time on matters that seem to be not worthy.

Having said that, you may be surprised to find that at the moment most of my time and energy is being spent revolving around....Fiverr.

Whats the punchline? Most of my finances are being made OFFLINE and by using OUTSOURCING, fiverr has incredible offers for custom made videos done for 5 dollars. Dentists,Doctors and real estate agents who do not have the time/interest to do research and find these tools done for dirt cheap are more then happy to pay 400-600 for a simple video that can be done for as little as 5 dollars.

Nonsense right? No. I have been doing this for the last 7 months and i've never been happier, of course its not for those who do not have people skills as it requires allot of talking.

None the less i hope this inspired some of you out there who are looking for a method.

Much love, and God bless.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO PRESS "THANKS"

ALSO FEEL FREE TO "BEFRIEND ME"

Love you all

So are you buying a service on Fiverr, then selling it to someone else for more than 100x the price it was for you? That's genius!

I think Fiverr is a great site for making money and getting jobs done for cheap. A little thinking outside the box and it can be very rewarding, thanks for the inspiration.

    Hi Tiffany,

I've used Fiverr in my offline business as well, but only to fulfill a small part of the projects. I've never fulfilled an entire order from one Fiverr gig.

Originally Posted by Tiffany Carter View Post

The problem I see with this is sustainability. It's only a matter of time until someone finds out that you're taking $5 videos and selling them for $400-$600. Maybe your clients won't find out, but your competition will and once they do they'll tear your business apart. Your reputation will be ruined and you'll have a hard time finding new clients in your area.

I recommend checking out VideoHive.net, they have a bunch of top-quality video templates. Instead of selling a $5 video you could find a $25 template there, pay someone from oDesk.com another $25-$50 to customize the template, and deliver a higher quality product to your clients.

Your profit margins will be a little lower but the quality would be much higher and you won't be putting your reputation in jeopardy.

I also recommend learning about video SEO and selling that as an upsell to your video clients. Via outsourcing it usually only takes $10-$50 to rank a video on the first page of Google for local keywords.

Anyways congratulations on your success so far and good luck with your business.

I usually just bite my tongue, but in this case I am making an exception.

This post is worse than nonsense. This is suppressive.

In fact, your competition will not tear your business apart. Your reputation will not be ruined. You will not have a hard time finding new clients in your area. The professionals that you are targeting are more than glad to pay to have this problem solved for them.

Congratulations to you Tiffany on your success and thank you for sharing it with all of us.

This is an excellent business model and if you continue to provide value to your customers, which you are, I am sure you will continue to be successful with this method as long as you choose to do it.

This is a great idea. I am starting to think that the best ways to make money might be to use skills learned through IM and apply them offline. A lot can be said for how much people are willing to do. The same principle applies through using eBay to sell things. Anyone can do it, it just isn't convienent for people so they choose not to. Nice work

It would've been suppressive if I would've merely pointed out the issue. But I also provided a solution. How do you figure I was being suppressive? IMO it would have been suppressive if I just said "yeah great job, keep it up!" when I saw an issue.

Anyways I'm speaking from experience. I recently spent 3 months working for another marketing agency in a nearby city. The competition was cut throat. We were in a shared office space and a video marketing guy was new to the building, he left his pricing sheet in the copier and I came in to find it sitting on my desk. The owner wanted me to analyze it and see what he was doing wrong and what we could do better.

A few weeks later one of our clients called us and told us one of our competitors contacted them and told them what we were doing wrong with their social media campaign.

And the owner told me some crazy stories, like how she was at a networking event with a client and one of our competitors was talking to the client trying ask about everything we were doing and trying to say how they could do it better.

I can guarantee that if we sold $5 videos that would've been the end of our business. I'm not sure what kind of offline marketing experience you have, but based on my experience I stand behind what I said. Maybe your area is different but from where I'm from you couldn't get away with selling $5 videos for $600.

For the last 2 years I've outsourced a great deal of my work to Fiverr to my offline clients (over 50% of my clients are professionals) . Creating videos, various parts of SEO work. press releases and more. It's amazing what quality $5 can get you. I just had 5 videos done for a dentist and he liked the quality.

I've never lost an offline client and all our very happy with what I'm providing them.

There is a lot of junk on Fiverr but there is also a lot of quality work. The key is to get a good list of trusted providers. If you establish a good relationship with them you can often continue with them even if they leave Fiverr.

I love fiverr! I've cut back on some of my initial gigs though, like making videos for $5 that I'm almost positive were being sold to the buyer's clients for a lot more. So I reined that in some. Two of my buyers liked my work so much that they asked me for my website so they could come back for more work - at a higher price. Works for me!

What I also love about it is using it for my PLR sales. I've sold about 15 - 20 of my PLR five-packs; just got a great feedback review on my hunting PLR packs - buyer bought the upgrade for all ten articles too!

So yeah, I'm liking fiverr for that, especially since my PLR is pretty much hobby-based, something I'll do once in a while but not really looking to build it into a full business right now.

In my experience the hardest thing is finding clients that are interested.

Personally, I have been offering the testimonials on Fiverr to people who are trying to sell products online and that has been working well.

In terms of video. Dan does have a point. It depends on what kind of video you're producing.

Personally, if I am selling a $400 video. The warriorforum would be a better place for me to outsource it.

However, I am charging them around $100 bucks, I wouldn't mind a $5 fiverr gig.

Way to think outside the box Tiffany.

I posted a gig on fiverr last year and was actually able to snag a private client from it. That one $5 gig turned into $750 job. I was so excited I couldn't believe it! Since then I have been too busy at my 9-5 PR job to do any freelancing on fiverr but your success story is inspiring and I now find myself sitting here trying to brainstorm some good gig ideas. Cheers!

Fiverr is just fantastic for all kind of outsourcing. You'd be surprised how few 'real world' people know about Fiverr...

As far as it being legitimate or not to take $400 and outsource the work for $5, you have to consider that she had to close the deal, drive to the client, manage the work, make sure it was acceptable and deliver it to her client's satisfaction.

Like she said, they paid her to handle it because THEY didn't have the time or access to any of these tools.

She handled it - she earned her commission.

Thanks for sharing your story Tiffany.

I would say that for the customer it doesnt matter how high or low the base price we pay is. Only one thing matters for the customer:

If the price he should pay is in his budget range then we have met the equilibrium for this

I am a Fiverr seller that actually uses it to resell to others. I have been doing alot of work testing various providers on Fiverr in order to convert to offline sales. A few things to keep in mind:

    1. Many times you are working with someone who IS NOT from the country that the flag on there name says. They sign up using VPN in order to get the flag of their choosing.
    2. Level One is very simple to get. Try to only work with top-rated sellers and level two sellers. While this may sound a bit cruel to newbies, simply put, too many newbies on Fiverr cannot deliver.
    3. Ask lots of questions and ask the seller what they do if you do not like the video/product. I personally offer a "no questions asked" guarantee. Some sellers will deliver the product and you may not be happy and think to yourself, "its only 5 bucks lost no big deal." Sellers count on that,
    4. Send the seller a msg before you buy with your expectations - Many times buyers get false expectations. Fiverr only allows 450 characters (including spaces) in the gig description. I try as best I can to describe my service but it is hard. I really like it when a buyer msg's me first with a few files or questions.
    5. Its easy to get banned as a seller on Fiverr. If you are unhappy with the product tell the seller and ask for a refund. If the seller has delivered the order and says, "I cant give you a refund".......tell them to contact Fiverr and request that you be refunded. Fiverr staff are happy to oblige and as long as the seller is legit it looks good for them to take the extra step and talk to Fiverr admin.

I look forward to posting on this subject in detail and giving my secrets away for free (776 completed sales in 6 months for about $4000) once I am not a newbie anymore. If these were helpful please thank me or whatever you are supposed to do here to get some cred.
