I prefer PDF. That way I can just scroll past all the fluff. And there is ALWAYS fluff. I'm not much for video unless I'm part of a membership site. I don't like video squeeze pages. I don't watch the videos in my email. And I rarely watch the videos in the WSO's I buy. I just read the PDF and get the content I want.

  It depends on the information you're presenting. Most of the time, I prefer PDFs as I read fast. If a video makes something easier to learn, then I appreciate a video.

I like video if spent a lot of time during post-production.

The problem with a lot of videos I see is they are recorded once and never cleaned up at all.

Perhaps consider embedding videos within PDF? So it will be "hybrid".

Acrobat X Pro is the best when it comes to this, but can be pricey.

I have a problem with videos that tend to drag along, without much progress, I end up yelling at the computer and eventually give up and shut it off, a PDF on the other hand I can follow along as I want, if the phone rings I can easily find my place again, Video is great when its well produced and does not contain rambling vague notions, not related to the content of the video.

For me, it depends by the nature of the problem or the walkthrough. If it's theoretical, i'd rather the .pdf since i can search with a keyword instead of moving forward and backwards. However, for practical i think video is also good because viewing something that already has worked and trying to do it is better than doing it by yourself and always have the question 'is this what it was meant?'

PDF definitely! And maybe a .mobi file so I can read it on my Kindle (although I've yet to see anyone offer this feature so I always have to convert them myself).

Time is precious, and I have no time to waste watching video.

It depends. If it's something that requires a lot of technical explanation I at least want images, screenshots in a PDF are likely to be enough. I prefer my information in text otherwise. Video is always good but there are far too many out there where the creator of the video has no idea how to produce video and has little or no idea on how to set up a concept and present it so others know what the message is. Just because someone knows how to push the record button doesn't mean they're a video producer.

I have seen many WSOs where the info could be presented in under 3 minutes as a pdf but they make me watch 3 ten minute videos instead.

My idea of the perfect WSO -a 1 sentence pdf that will make me $1,000,000 today with one minute's work.
2nd place- a two sentence pdf

Just give us the info-time is money

  I have actually bought a couple of WSO's which also included video, after both their vendors assured me (accurately, I'm sure) that the video wasn't necessary at all, and simply duplicated the information in the PDF for people who prefer that format.

A PDF is most welcome for me. Videos take long to watch and most of them drag on and on while covering so little. The written word is easier to skim too, not so with videos.

PDF first and foremost but video can be a valuable addition when done right. For example explaining how to set something technical up; it's nice to be able to pause/play a video for visual matching while implementing the instructions.

The problem with video is you never know how long it's going to take for the person to get to the point. Like some people will talk rubbish for 10 minutes and you'll have to sit through it all to extract the information which could have been explained in 2 minutes.

I prefer pdfs just because they make it easier to skip around and go at my own pace or reread anything I found interesting. Videos are kind of a pain to me personally.

I much prefer PDFs. I like to speed read through things and find myself getting impatient if I have to sit through a video, especially if I already know a lot of the stuff and just want to get to the important parts!

PDFs only here too. I just do not enjoy sitting down and watching a 30 minute (or longer) video and do much better by reading at my own pace.

Yeah, I prefer to skim through PDFs.

Here is why: most people really don't know how to present information.

I can watch videos from certain marketers for hours - there are about 7 on that list.

The rest I can stand for a full minute (including some of the top WSO sellers on this forum)

Wow I am really surprised to see how many prefer pdf's over video!! I also prefer the pdf over the video most of the time. I always love to have both. I usually read the pdf's and then play the videos. I just seem to digest it better that way. Having a pdf is easier to quickly go back and reference something.

I like PDF. If the content explains a complex process / procedure, then video is my choice. If planning goes in the production of a video, it can be of a good quality. For instance tight editing is essential, so the video is free, for example, from the unnecessary pauses.

PDF. A few months ago I paid for a video course that was supposed to be the bees knees from a raved about marketer.

The videos were far too long at 30 minutes to an hour each and excruciatingly boring because most of it was the 'guru' bragging about how much brass he is making. Bad manners where I come from.

I forced myself to watch about 12 of the videos, a couple of them twice because I dozed off and am just not into subliminal learning. I did gain something from the pain, but what I learned could have fit into a 10 page PDF and saved me an awful lot of time and brain pain.

Short videos are fine for showing what a product does on a sales page, but for learning give me a PDF any day.

It really depends...

If the video is engaging I'll opt to watch the video if given a choice. The problem is that most people do not know how to present their information and most videos are not engaging. In this case I would prefer to quickly scan over the written content.

Doing both may be your best option and why not do both if you have the ability... The video at the top of the page and the written content below or a link to the video at the beginning of your pdf. You satisfy both types of people without taking away from either.

I wish to live in a land where IM videos are illegal.

Where even using the word "video" in connection with an IM product is a punishable offense.

Every time I see a product where it says, "Includes 31 Videos!!" I get ill. (and do not buy).

The problem is the wso gurus have sold everybody on the idea you need lots of videos to create the illusion of value....otherwise you won't be able to get a full $7 for your product
(yes, something is really wrong with this picture.)

.Pdf and Downloadable vids. However, both of these need to say the same thing. If I'm too lazy to read, I want to watch the video. If I'm in no mood for videos, I'll have the pdf.

It shouldn't be two different things, unless it's too technical to explain in a .pdf (but of course, nothing is that hard to explain in words)
