How many ways is there to get free traffic to your website?

Because i have read a lot of time that people don't worry about getting traffic from Google which is the biggest search engine on the internet. Are you getting constant traffic without using Google and how many more ways is there to getting traffic. Youtube, Facebook and supposedly Twitter are some others. Are there more ways?..............

    There are tonnes of ways. You can comment on blogs, advertise, post on forums - the list goes on.

    I see your a war room member, there's a load of free guides out there to help you get visitors and targetted traffic to your site without having to worry about SEO and ranking on google.

      Incredibly, SEO is among the least effective and proportionally the smallest source of traffic overall, yet it seems to be touted the most here on the forum. Over 90% of all my traffic comes from just writing articles.

      I second this. One of my sites has a PR of 4 and gets 150+ searches a day from Google and the traffic doesn't convert at all. It's too much of a niche IM market and the people searching want cheaper stuff. So, I focus almost entirely on authority building through guest posts, forum marketing, list building, and social media + videos. There are so many great way to get free traffic and most of them have been described a dozen or more times in the War Room.

      When you go in, search by rating and look for 4 or 5 star rated posts that mention traffic - there are at least a dozen of them with some really killer stuff. Can't count how many nuggets I've gotten from users in there.

    Social marketing, bookmarking, guest blogging, article marketing, forum marketing, banner advertising. There are a lot of ways to get your urls spread around the internet.

    Setting alerts is a good one and gives you targeted traffic

    so you set alerts in Google for any time anyone asks a question relating to your niche. You get an alert telling you where the comment was posted

    you go there and answer the question leaving a link. Yahoo answers and blogs, forums and other such places are useful... every time you answer a question you are leaving a link that can bring traffic

      I tried the Google alerts thing before, but i dont think I did something right.

    One great way to get traffic is to start a podcast and submit it to directories like iTunes. I have a podcast for one of my sites and I get a ton of traffic from people who've found me via iTunes.

    There are really many many ways to drive traffic to your site. Of course some are better and give you better and more long lasting and targeted traffic and some not so.

    forum traffic is the easiest by far, unfortunately its not so effective for the IM niche as everyone on the forum is doing the same thing, go to google and search forums for an obscure niche, on these forums people are quite unaware of the whole forum marketing thing and you create a signature and the conversions are crazy!
    For example, if I leave four to five posts on this forum (WF) in a day I will expect 10-20 hits to my site, but on one of my more obscure niches forums with the same posts in a day I regularly get anywhere between 50-100 visits! the key is go where everyone else aint and you are treated like some kind of guru!

    Give it a go, you may well be pleasently suprised!!

    I mostly use Facebook to drive traffic to my sites. Google is just a long term process but if you want instant traffic you need to do Social Marketing which is the fastest way to get traffic because millions of people is online and also Forums! just with this forum alone you can get some traffic!

    Right now I'm averaging 5k using just Facebook and Forums (only 3-4 fourms) and thats it!

    Google traffic is big. Even though I get traffic from forums, social media sites, article directories and other places, Google still accounts for about 80% of the traffic to my site.

    There's basically only one way of getting traffic, and that's a LINK If you define "link" widely enough, than everything is a link, including a link on a search engine, a link from a video or article, word-of-mouth is merely a different type of link.

    There are lots of ways to get links. One of the best ways, long-term, is to create content that visitors really love. Other than that, you can find various ways of putting links in useful places, such as backlinking, although since Penguin, you have to be careful to do it right
