Help me if you can, please

Hi everybody,I`m quite new to internet marketing so I was wandering if anybody would share with me their getting started experiences. A little about your background, how you got into working & earning on-line, the main problems you encountered. Not only do I hope to personally learn from this, but if there is a good enough response I would like to make a report / e-book. I will, of course, include your link for anything you provide. Thank you all Nick

Actually, you already have the answer. Compile some great info form here or anywhere else, create a pdf report out of it (ebook). Set a suitable pricing, and get affiliates to promote for you, via clickbank or paydotcom. All the best for your efforts!

    Nick,

Here are my top 3 tips to anyone wanting to get into IM:

1 - Treat it like a business. At first it's hard to get the difference between a legitimate business and an online money maker. But it's important to wrap your head around it. Registering as a corporation really made it easier for me to switch my mindset. Another key element is that when you operate a business, you realize that internet marketing is only a medium to get your message out there, and a way to process orders. The real business is a lot more, and is not limited to online activities or ebooks in any way.

2 - Focus! The jumping-frog disease is something you will want to avoid at all cost. Stick to a project and make it profitable. Write down a plan, break it down into step by step actions, and only spend money if it will accelerate the completion of the project (don't get distracted by all the latest hype).

3 - Take time off! Because working online is so easy for most people (just boot the computer and there you go), it's also way to easy to procrastinate, tell yourself you'll do it later, and/or spend way too much time in front of your screen instead of enjoying the lifestyle. Be strict, focus on the most productive tasks, and get away from the computer as soon as you're done, and don't look back.

    Hope this helps!
    Alex.

    Hello Nick,

It's good that you have found this forum at the beginning of your IM journey;-)

It's even better that you're asking questions and learning from people who have been there and done that.

First of all if I were you I would work out what your budget is, how much you can afford to spend on advertising, autoresponders etc.

Your first priority is going to be to build your list, that's what IM is all about, building relationships and being the go to guy or gal,I.E when people are stuck with something they see you as the answer to their problem...

You're then going to have to pick a mentor based on how much money you are willing to spend, if you have a very tight budget then you'll need someone who has made it online with free marketing strategies like videos, articles, a blog, press releases etc etc etc.

But if you have money to spend then you should be able to profit quicker providing you pick the right mentor who has time for you and is also producing results, I would have to recommend Terry Anderson from I Buzz Pro if you type Terry anderson i buzz pro into youtube he will come up nice man he has time for you too;-)

If I was in your shoes I would be really careful picking a mentor because you need someone who is going to have the time to show you what to do, someone caring and patient;-) I'm not saying that someone is me just kidding lol!

You don't have to join terry to speak to him you could have a talk with lots of different people, don't think you have to join them because you've spoken to them and they've helped you ... they wont expect you to!

Free marketing takes time and effort paid marketing can make you a ROI return on your investment in less than a month if you pick a very good mentor.

That is the biggest piece of the puzzle, picking the right mentor, because it;s like you're blind and they're leading you through a dark tunnel! Until you know what to do on your own you'll need them so choose your mentor wisely;-)

Also work out exactly how much time you have to put into this each week, it could be anything from 20 to 60 hours but make sure you are realistic so it can be long term timetable that you can stick to till you are free and can leave your job;-)

Warning! everyone believes that their method, company, tactic, product, team, mentor are the best! So beware! Decide if you want to do affiliate marketing, or network marketing online or voice broadcasting-quicker results.

You will make a lot of money online if you are consistent and you plan for the long term, with paid marketing you could make it quicker but be careful and make sure you have someone holding your hand if you choose to go that way, I recommend it for a beginner over free marketing, eventually most people use both.

Trust yourself and stick with one thing make money with it and THEN move on to the next thing!

Focus focus focus one thing at a time and you'll go far;-)

    Good Luck

Follow your gut and use your head and you can't go wrong!

      Hi Nick

I started my home business offline over 10 years ago because of financial problems (over now!!). I published my own magazine and guides, ran a leaflet design service etc. It got too much, an office instead of a home and not much of a life. Online is easier in those respects but it's a tougher learning curve.

My biggest problem at first was that I felt overwhelmed by the vast amount of choices and information on the Internet. Scams were no problem because I had learned all about those in my offline business, but identifying scams can be a big problem for newbies to Internet marketing and there are many who lose their money and drop out believing that all Internet marketing is scams because they were unlucky to encounter the minority first.

Probably the best thing that I did was to join this and a couple of other forums. Hovered around reading for a while and soaked up information before unleashing myself and my purse strings. The beauty of forums is that you get plenty of unbiased opinions and that if you are not sure about something you can ask and receive lots of helpful information and advice.

I chose niches that I was most interested in because I believe that knowledge and enthusiasm helps sales and trust building.

Good luck with your new business
