Hi guys! I got a question I could find any info online. My clickbank aff. url bypasses vendor site and goes straight to order page run by clickbank.

Sometimes I see in the bottom - [affiliate - mynickname], sometimes I see
[affiliate - autoselect.nvwel]

What does it mean? Can clickbank lose the refferal info because of cloaking or redirecting pages?

I track clicks on url with trackpageview function in analytics and see a lot of people clicking the link, but clickbank shows almost none form impressions.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks a lot!

If you don't see your name at the foot of the payment page, the sale won't be credited to you. Also, bypassing the vendor's sales page may contravene ClickBank's TOS.

      Are you using this format?:

      Code:
      http://prodnumber.affiliate_vendor.pay.clickbank.net
Where prodnumber is the product ID number (Usually "1", but some vendors sell multiple products with the same account)

And affiliate is your CB affiliate nickname

And vendor is the vendor name.

If you are omitting the prodnumber, Clickbank may autoselect a random affiliate ID or use an existing cookie. This method bypasses Clickbank's cookie-setting algorithm for the current session, so you could be losing sales.

You need the vendor's express permission, to do this. (According to ClickBank's rules). That's often not a problem.

What might be a bigger probelm for you is that you won't be setting your affiliate cookie on your prospective customers' computers, if you don't link to the sales page. (That's part of the reason vendors tend not to mind this!).

Thanks for your help guys! Yes, I am using this with a permission of vendor and yes, I am using link as

          1.MyNickname_Product.pay.clickbank.net

I was just surprised when I saw [affiliate - autoselect.nvwel] in the bottom. I double checked it and will see when clickbank refreshes

          Regards

You will see that, on your computer, because you have the affiliate cookie there. But if your customers don't buy at their first visit to the order-page, but go back to the product's sales page at some later point (as so many can), then you won't be paid an affiliate commission on those, because your cookie won't be on their computers, that way. Those will be processed by ClickBank as "no affiliate". Which, as I was explaining, is part of the reason why vendors typically give permission for affiliates to do this: they're gaining some additional commission-free sales from it. Don't imagine that what you see on your screen is the same as what will happen with your customers.

Aleхa, thank you very much for a detailed explanation! So it's not a good idea to bypass vendor's page and go straight to order page? Or is there any way to make this work witout loosing customers who come back to sales page after?

              Regards

There is nothing inherently ill-advised with this, providing you adhere to Clickbank's TOS. It really depends on your own marketing experience level, but also you should understand the drawbacks when using this method. Personally, I promote 300+ Clickbank products using this format, only because I'm a much better copywriter than any of these particular vendors. To overcome the cookie issue, I send emails everyday to my subscriber lists with the payment page link until they either buy or die. There is little chance this way of an intervening cookie session being set.

"I send emails everyday to my subscriber lists with the payment page link until they either buy or die", that's awesome saying, myob. I also got some traffic that goes directly to offer page without me being able to capture their e-mails I am working on it, will see. Anyway, you guys answered my question in full, thanks for that!

The "buy" part is awesome, anyway. Mind you, with his hugely wide range of niches, he can probably fix the rest up with a referral to a funeral director, too. :p

Yes, but actually selling funeral products is more of a promising, expanding niche that will never die within the foreseeable future, and is included among my top favorites.

Yep you need to read the TOS clearly for your own benefit, I think this will breach the TOS for click bank.

Well, not much we can say to that, except that you're mistaken.

As stated above pretty clearly by people who are regularly doing it and have checked, it doesn't breach ClickBank's TOS as long as you have the vendor's permission in each case.
