Just starting out with income for blog

I have a blog that is expanding to include other features. We have been operating for about a month and traffic is increasing nicely for being a newbie at all this. However adsense confuses me and is not making more than maybe a penny a day. How do you get the better paying ads or is adsense old news and there is a new and better service to use for PCP. I have just started using peerfly as well for another source of possible income. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

This all depends on what your blog is about. If you're in a niche that doesn't pay well with google adsense, then you may never see much of an increase. Also whether or not people even want to click on your ads depends on the type of traffic you are getting.

Go to the google keyword tool and check the CPC (cost per click) for your blog's keywords.

Also, read an Adsense guide, you'll learn quite a bit from it.

Well, for steady income you could try paid blogging sites like sponsoredreviews.com, blogsvertise.com, payu2blog.com and some others out there. They usually pay about $5 a blog post (or link) - some pay higher. It will keep your blog liquid while you work on your adsense or affiliate marketing.

    Good luck

Google Adsense ad positioning is important, plus niche selection, plus blog design, plus traffic. Adsense is still working awesomely, so there's nothing wrong with it. Are you getting alot of traffic everyday? Where does your traffic come from?

If you want to make a money of money with adsense, you will need a lot of targeted traffic because adsense pays really cheaply. Statistically speaking, it takes just as many visitors to get an adsense click as it does to earn a commission by promoting other people's products (affiliate marketing). It's like choosing to make .30 over $30+. If you're going to try to make money with adsense, you shouldn't put adsense on the same page that you a promoting an affiliate offer. How much you get paid per click with adsense really depends on how competitive the niche you're in is and stuff, too.

    Good luck,
    Joey
