Sales conversion rate

So I always here that 1%-3% is a good sales conversion rate. What statistics do you use to make this calculation. Just the traffic?

My squeeze page redirects directly to a sales video of a well known super affiliate. So far I got 450 clicks and a 5 sales and one upsell. The product is a rebill. I don't really like the sales video though. I know - "If It's a guru, he'll know how to make a good sales pitch" but I disagree in this particular case.

Once again, traffic source are mainly solo ads. I know the sales funnel and soft selling tactics are also important to make an accurate assesment, but I'll ask you to be pragmatic on this one and give me some rough data.

Some more stats:
OF - Order Form
I - Impression

Hop Count - 458 Hops per Order - 92 Hops per OF I - 8
OF I count - 61 OR submit count - 9 OF Sale conversion - 8,20%
Sales - 5 (+1 upsell)

Do you see something that can be significantly optimized?

    First of all, please don't bump. Secondly, you should try to pre-sell the product with your own landing page before sending your traffic to the page where they can buy the product. This usually improves conversions bit a lot.

      Should I reverse engineer the sales pitch in the video? Or with landing page do you mean squeeze page?

    A number of factors contribute to conversion rate. What are you doing here, having them click to watch a video on your site?

    How does the video ask for the conversion?

    It sounds like the traffic from the solo ads and other sources is going right to the sales video. Does the solo ad vendor send the email or do you?
