What would you do to earn an extra $1k this month?

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I'm going to be about $1k short at the end of May for my June 1st bills. I make money from niche sites, but most of those tanked on the recent Penguin update. What would you do to earn an extra $1k within the next 30 days?

Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks.

Chad

I would personally offer a service.

For instance I am not too bad at SEO (even if I do say so myself!), site design, product creation or maybe all of the above for $995!

    Any takers?

Seriously though - if you can provide a service of quality I would say that is the fastest way.

Now you have to ask yourself:

    "Do you feel lucky?"

    Whoops not that one...

    You need to ask yourself:

"What can YOU offer of value?"

Offering a service that you are very good at can earn you extra money. Put an add in the Warrior for Hire section on this website. I think it only costs around $20.00 to do that.

The Warriors for Hire Ad is a good idea. Apart from that, get the ball rolling on the free lancing service front - on Fiverr, Odesk, Elance and other relevant sites. This way - you will have multiple channels to get sales through

Yup, Services is the way to go.

If you have a particular skill that you can do or you know someone who can do it cheaper and sell it for more then you're in.

All you need now is the traffic.

For offline stuff, I put up some craiglist ads and for IM stuff I would start here.

Fiverr would be a final resort as the pay is really low.

      I would turn the £1K into £10K.

    • I'd actually written a fairly long 30-day action plan in response to this post, then I realized if what you're saying is true, it's not just this month. You're always going to be $1000 short at the end of the month.

Sometimes it's better to cut expenses if your shortage is a chronic one.

Looks like most are recommending Services. How quickly could one get a service set up and what kind of costs are associated?

I've mostly been into building small niche sites for myself. Not pretty, but they make money. Should I offer a site-building service, a backlinking service, keyword research, product finding? Where would you start?

    Thanks,
    Chad

      Hi Chad,

since you're making money with micro niche sites....just scale it up what you're doing !

To earn an extra $1k within this month just sell some of your sites on flippa for their x10-12 month's earnings !

        $1000 is a little less than $34 a day. It's $250 a week.

Find a product or service where you can make that kind of income.

Can you write? Do something like website installation? Graphics?

Don't sit around and think too much. Get some action going.

If I were you I would invest in CPA + solo ads (email marketing) and get some quick clicks and sales.

He could possibly lose though with CPA+Solo's so this may not be the best. The best advice so far is to sell some of the tanked sites..

You could offer up ghostwriting services on a site like elance(.com) or something like that.

Agreed, trying something completely new is probably not a good idea at this point.

Sell one of the sites on Flippa. Set the auction to run over seven days then if it doesn't work out you still have another three weeks to try something else.

    Go get a REAL JOB!

If you're from the US/UK, then that's your best value of time for money, as the offline pay is much more than what you can get than offering services online.

Online, especially when you're just starting out with being a service provoder and you don't have a track record to show, you'll have to compete with people from different countries offering the same service that you can do for a price much cheaper than what you're willing to offer.

I would rent ad space on the back of my head.

These are times where having a list of happy buyers would easily bring in 1k. Just a thought towards the future.

Sure Thomas but how on Earth would you possibly fill all the ad space? Even with a rabid customer base, the area is enormous.

...I suspect you'd need an entire ad agency to manage it personally.

You can't beat style like that.

I have been working on my evil plans for world domination. I come here and post from time to time (mainly to pick on Paul).

I find it better for my mental health to post intermittently. haha
