Advice on selling a WSO

I was trying to find a thread where people give advice on selling a WSO.

Can anyone please give me suggestions?

I am creating a video product on marketing using viral methods.

I setup a wordpress site with wishlist member. I started creating the WSO with WSO Pro.

I'm planning on hiring someone to write the sales page.

What advice can anyone give me?

Thank you in advance!

Barak

There are lots of threads about this very topic and even a few ebooks. I think some have been sold as WSOs. Check out the WSOs and maybe grab a couple for yourself.

I/we could probably give you some better advice if you were a bit more specific as to what exactly you are needing help with. There are MANY parts to the process of running a successful WSO -- a lot more than can be explained in just a simple post.

Have to agree with Will here, help us to help you as some might say.

My biggest peice of advice to you would be; get decent sales copy. No matter how good your product is, if the sales copy doesn't convert then nobody will be buying it.

    Here is some advice:

I recently got WSO of The Day - I know that doesn't mean anything in itself but it is what everyone is pretty much aiming for.

    1. Make sure your product is in demand - what do you really offer? Something new?

    2. Over deliver - Don't just do the bare minimum go above and beyond and most of all keep on asking "How can i offer more value?"

    3. Network and build a list - If you are thinking of just launching a WSO and watching the money roll in forget it. You need a targeted list, other people with targeted lists and maybe thinking about offering a free report that gives something of value relating to your product for free.

    4. Learn from the best - Have a look at people like me! < That's a joke by the way!

Have a look at other successful WSO's , how the copy works, reviews etc...

Most of all I would say focus on value and you don't need to go mad with graphics, sales pages etc... you just NEED to have a really good offer.

Chris had explain everything you need to start your WSO. Nevertheless, you also need a good support team with clearly understanding about product knowledge, otherwise you will got dissatisfied buyers and refund their money (the worst thing)

Funny you should say that, re: graphics. Today's WSO of the Day is VERY light on graphics stuff. A graphic for the product generally should be sufficient, then it tends to come down to layout (a graphic element, but it's in a separate domain from the ecover/product graphics. I can do layout -- but forget about me doing stuff with sun-rays bouncing around ... at least for now!)

And clearly communicate the value that offer provides, which is where copywriters come in.

(ahem, professional copywriters make the value visible -- it has to be there in the first place. Many of us can also advise you on how to make your offers more valuable, as well.)

one of the most important things you need to worry about is your sales copy
And, I just see that someone entered in with "you must have good sales copy." This may sound heretical, it may sound like I'm shooting myself in the foot. What you really need to worry about is TRAFFIC, and, as Chris said, your offer. Lots of successful WSOs have comments where "I didn't even read the sales copy."

There are a number of elements that need to be coordinated to have a good-selling, let alone best-selling, WSO.

There are many courses you could pick up (for cheap) that would help you successfully launch your WSO from start to finish.

I would say that one of the most important things you need to worry about is your sales copy. If you don't have good sales copy you could even end up losing $

Stick to the basics. Those are:

    1. Create an excellent product that people want and price it so it's affordable
    2. Build your post count here by contributing to the community
    3. Launch your offer with some testimonials and reviews. These will be much easier to get as a result of #2
    4. Either write or get a proven copywriter to create a great sales page for your offer
    5. Get set up with Warrior Plus and let affiliates know about your offer. You can also go with JV Zoo but I don't have first hand knowlege of them, though their system is similar to Warrior+
    6. After making some sales you should get some unsolicited reviews. These are very valuable. If your offer is really good you'll find affiliates signing up and promoting your offer as the reviews come in. Devote a post in your WSO thread to recruting affiliates
    7. This is probably the most important one. Don't rush into it. Rushing is the leading reason for failure.

I think a good investment would be to hire someone that can format your sales letter i.e graphic design style that many WSOs used nowadays. It will surely drive the conversion much higher.

Here are 3 tips to help anyone thinking about running a WSO.

      1. Make sure you have Wishlist Member linked to your Autoresponder, so you can build a list of WSO buyers. Also, have an autoresponder sequence in place. This autoresponder sequence should include an email asking for reviews from satisfied buyers.

      2. Post a test thread in the "TEST FORUM" before creating the real thing. This will give you a chance to double check your copy and graphics before posting and paying for your WSO. Test the sales button as well as any other links.

      3. Offer affiliates a commission of 50-100%. The commission percentage and conversion statistics will make or break your product with affiliates. You also might want to provide affiliates with swipe emails and other tools to promote your product as well.

      Good luck and much success,
      Brandon Bell
