What Do You Do To Pre-Launch Your Product?

Hey Warriors,

As I am working on a large project at the moment and I am looking to see what other successful warriors have done to get the buzz out about an upcoming product. Let's compare notes!

If you're talking about a WSO, then make a WSO Pre-Launch thread well in advance with an opt-in capability. Have your existing list to jump on it so they can become familiar with the product, so when it comes time to launch, you can notify them that it is about to happen.
Obviously having JV's help and a large existing list but you can also think outside the box and use social media and video marketing

I like the idea of the WSO pre-launch thread. Thanks for the tips

I was actually thinking about making a very suspenseful video like this one

Something that builds suspense and makes you curious but doesn't tell you exactly what is going on

Then buying ad space on the top of the forum

This would get everyone in WF talking about it and getting excited and curious

I remember when I saw this exact video. Good Idea for getting people excited. Never actually thought about doing something like this for a product launch.

I don't think either of those tactics work as well as you would think because of the type of marketplace you are dealing with here. If people go to your thread and see there is nothing for sale, they don't get excited. They simply go elsewhere and buy the next product that interests them.

You need to understand the type of buyers that hang out on this forum. A large proportion of them are people who buy religiously and will buy regardless of whether or not your product is available. If they aren't buying you're product they are buying someone else's.

I've seen a few pre-launch threads in the WSO forum that were just dragged out way too long that the buzz around the product just died and when they finally come on sale, a lot of people have lost interest. If you are going to do a prelaunch then only do it a few days before or you run the risk of taking the wind out of your sails.

I had some good success in running a public survey just before launch where I not only got some market info which would improve my product but also collected an interested list of fresh leads.

I gave them a discount code for participating and used my forum sig and a classified ad to get exposure.
