Website article posting question

Would it be better to first post an article on my website before i submit it to ezine? Does that effect rankings in anyway.

Also would it be better to link to the ezine article from my website or post the article on my website seperately?

Thanks

Generally I try and keep the articles posted to article sites and the content on the site separate as apart from whatever negativity the Search Engine's may view for the duplicate content, it also isn't the greatest user experience.

That's the way I see it also. You wouldn't want someone who has just read your article to click your link to your site and see the exact article they just read. You could use the content for your site (recommended) then rewrite the article for directories if you still wanted to use that content.

Sorry i think i wasn't clear with my question. I want to compile a info website that has a bunch of articles related to a niche so that people who search for it in google can access it and gain value from it and i can create a list aswell. Is this a good strategy?
Im wondering when i post the links on my site to my articles should i post them to my eza urlor upload the article to my website and post it there. Will have one article psoted on eza and 1 article on my website affect rankings? if not which would be better to submit to.

Yes, you're almost always best served by writing 2 articles - one for your site and one for a site like EzineArticles. Just take 2 different points to be made about the topic and write content for both. You'll give your visitors who come from your EzineArticles article more and different info once they get to your site.

You can host it on your site and have it hosted on ezine as long as the author is clearly the same on both. Make sure you have strong links in your ezine submission back to related pages on your site, but you only get two links now I think.
