Really want to find out what people are buying..

Not so much interested in bestseller lists on Amazon as that tends to just throw people into the same products, is there anyway to find a larger list of what people are actually buying?

For example, if I search bestseller lists in Electronics obviously I will end up with ipads just like everyone else..What I want is to really go down the list to things people still buy but without the insane competition

    Just look for a product that you want to sell and see what are the numbers.

    That is what I would do.

    I don't think that there is a list that tells you these numbers of what has less competition and what has more.

    Your point is brilliant. I think it take a few steps to get there though. I think that info
    Amazon and others would view as proprietary and counterproductive to there goals.
    That’s why we test. I do see a bit of software from an idea like this.

    There are a lot of ways to do this. Someone had already mentioned to keep an eye on trends. Here's a good website to get you started:

    You also want to stay informed on changes in certain markets. A GREAT free newsletter you can get almost everyday is over at eMarketer:
