"Here's how I get around the rules..."

This seems to be an overriding theme among some IMers. I even see this idea behind many wso's.

"Here's how I get around the rules..."

Personally I try to stay away from that philosophy.

If I may make an analogy...

There's a difference between an overweight person saying,

"Here's how I can dress a certain way, to APPEAR to be thinner"

vs.

"Here's what I can do to (actually) BECOME thinner."

There's a world of difference when one makes it a goal to figure out how to "win" (profit, etc.) VIA "getting around" the rules, vs. winning via FOLLOWING the rules (AND the SPIRIT/INTENTION of the rules), and (still) winning, following THAT (better) path!

No?

Why all this focus on how to "get around" the rules?

Why not focus on how to win WITHIN the rules -- legitimately?
Or is that not possible?

It's definitely possible to 'win within the rules' in my opinion.
It mostly requires a stronger mind/will in the beginning, but it will work out better at the end.

I think it's actually easier to win by playing by the rules, though I think, it depends on the rule too.

I think if you play by the rules you are much better off in the long run. I think the people that don't play by the rules will have trouble come along sometime in their path.

Play by the rules. If not you run the risk of financial ruin. I use my own real name and have spent the last 9 or 10 months learning before I even started to "sell."

Rules are created with the intent of the betterment of all I.E. No great civilization ever has continued to exist without rules . Some people believe that they do not have to live their lives according to rule (THE TEN COMMANDMENTS) and they reap a whirlwind of troubles in their lives as well when they do not .

I believe this way of marketing appeals to our carnal nature to take the "EASY WAY"'or a shortcut to what we want .

Not exactly how I would do IM but to each his own.

I'd say play by the rules, but think outside the box. Add your own twists but without doing anything not allowed.

Depends on what the rules are, who made them, and their purpose.
